Oh geez, I haven't seen a movie in the theater since this one months ago! I was great though. Volver:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Was alright. Not great though. Had funny moments. But seemed rushed.

Hairspray.....well I watched 3/4 of it. My hubby fell asleep and to be honest the singing all the time was irritating me. The singing is the only difference between that and the original film. This is the first time we have been to the pictures since we went to watch 'Wrong Turn' years ago!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, twice. I had to see it a second time because a group of stupid kids were sitting behind me talking and giggling the entire time. I had to keep saying "shh!!!" or "shut up" to them, but in doing so I missed some dialogue of the movie. They just wouldn't shut up. I would have moved but the theater was packed. The same thing happened to me when I went to see Spider-Man 3. I hate it when people talk during a movie, it's okay if they whisper once in awhile but don't talk loud enough for other people to hear you. Okay, I'm done ranting -Jess

I actually went to see the Waterhorse- Legend of the Deep (which was like a fantasy history of the Loch Ness monster) new movie over the holiday break. I thought it was a sweet little film. I'm a sentimental sucker for any movie about a kid's friendship with an animal, alien, etc... Nessie was cute as a baby (animatronic creature I think), and then the CGI effects were quite good as he grew bigger. The Scottish countryside and the loch was just breathtaking and made me think seriously about visiting someday. Overall, I give it a B!

Enchanted. I absolutely loved it. But I'm a huge Disney fan, so it was ironic and hilarious to me, while still being sweet.

Oh wow. No one's posted in this thread since the last time Iwent to the movies. That's sad. I hardly EVER do to the movies.
I just saw Juno yesterday. I thought it was cute and fairly funny, but not the hilarious thing everyone has said. I definitely had some good lines, though. I'd recommend waiting for the DVD

I think people made it out to be some sort of obvious comedy type of film but it was more of a indie off the wall drama with comedic lines etc...personally I thought it was great. ellen page is brilliant! Last film i saw...ermmm...Day watch in my uni cinema which shows films really late.lol. It was already out on dvd when I went to see it but it was awesome. The effects were awesome! I love the way they did the russian subtitles they really seemed to be part of the film. For example if someone was reading out of a book the subtitles would appear with the pages and when the book would close the subtitles woudl go with the book...hard to explain but neat little touch. Seeing a giant ferris wheel rolling through the snowy streets of moscow flattening people as the apocalypse destroyed everything was pretty cool on the big screen!

Jumper. A nice short film with great effects I just saw Jumper, last night. It was like having the worst ADD you could imagine. They were jumping everywhere! The effects were very fun. I think it could have been a really good movie with different casting. Of course, Samuel L. Jackson was excellent, as always. But Hayden Christiansen was just so boring and unsympathetic. I don't think he makes a very good lead. He's better as a villian. But I didn't like him as Anakin, either. Rachel Bilsen wasn't that interesting, either. Overall, it was fun. Just don't expect more than a lot of fast action.

The last movie I went to see was August Rush a few months ago. I thought it was really good. The performances and the singing was excellent in that movie. Robin Williams does creepy very well.
I miss going to the movies, I really should go more often.
