Scottywould you date a guy with a ZZ top beard? why or why not? Erm, probably would, facial hair doesn't bother me, my dad has a mustache and beard so its what you know. Its the person inside that counts. I have always been told I'd date Quasimodo if he had a nice personality.Which celebrity would you consider a total waste of Oxygen? why? Britney Spears and Barbara Streisand, both selfish, egocentric, talentless (IMO) bitches. You could also throw in any/all of the Spice Girls too for the same reason.Which Celebrity would you consider under rated? why? Bruce Campbell, the guy is a genius, okay he is tounge-in-cheek but he is entertaining to watch, his comic timing is perfect, completely versatile, he has been involved in some great productions, he is always memorable in his roles. Look at Spidey 1, 2, 3 on screen for mere moments yet steals the film!In your opinion who is the best Superman/ Clark Kent...George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling or Brandon Routh?...Why? Tie between George Reeves and Christopher Reeve. For the era George Reeves was iconic in his portrayal plus Clark wasn't quite so bumbly. Chris Reeve because he just filled the suit and was a hero out of the suit too. I grew up with Chris Reeve as Superman and for me he probably will always be Superman, but I cannot ignore the quality and morality George Reeves bought. The only thing that takes away from Chris Reeve for me is how he was directed as Clark. Too me, CR's portrayal of Clark was that Clark was so bumbling, here we have the greatest person on the planet an alien adopting the role of a human and making himself a doofus, a fool and an object of jest and weak, says a lot about how Kal-El perceives humans. Would you Perceive that Penguins are Possibly in Peril from Pollution? Never thought about it, but I suppose yes. We cannot even go to Everest or Space without leaving junk behind, so I daresay there is a lot floating around Antarctica. What are you thoughts on Global Warming? Being completely candid, just another way to tax the populace.
Okay the iceberg's and ice caps are melting BUT like ice in your drink, same volume just different state, therefore the same amount of space, when your ice melts in your drink, your drink doesn't explode over you.
Yes, there is a problem with previously land locked water melting e.g. glaciers on land, as that is water entering the sea that has never been in the sea before so sea levels are rising because of that.
BUT, we are over due an ice age.
AND, around the 14th Century carbon emissions peaked, I don't recall that many cars or industry being around then.
The planet used to be Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide and Oxygen was the poison, back in the day if it were possible the same politicians would be carping on about rising oxygen levels.
If you want to do something about rising CO2 emissions, stop already over populated countries from continue breeding. We are the worst polluters, human beings, look at the CO2 we breath out. Also, stop cutting down flaming trees.
Similarly, we have had flood over here recently, it isn't global warming that is to blame, it the fact that every 50 years or so the jet stream doesn't go as high as it normally would so England gets more rain. BUT you cannot build houses on natural flood plains, install inadequate drainage and then moan when the water cannot get away fast enough/has no where to escape too. That isn't global warming, its penny pinching building techniques initiated by greed and human laziness.

PedroSince you are a teacher and are full of knowledge and kick boxing skills..... I think you would be a good watcher.... Your a watcher in Buffy and you have a choice to pick a slayer Who would you pick and why? Oh and you just became a watcher at the end of season 5 of Buffy so that particular slayer is out of order ;D Is this out of the Potentials? I liked Rona (Indigo), strong, opinionated and kick ass. Got to have the fire and she has it.Okay your the head of the CSI Vegas... You have to choose one of the guys from the team to join you on a case...who would you choose and why? Warrick, good all-rounder, reliable, strong but caring, good eye for details. Plus bloody gorgeous. You hear a noise and look out the window and see a werewolf howling.. Your phone has the contact list: Buffy Summers and Giles The Charmed Ones Dean and Sam Bo and Luke Fred and Barney Ike and Tina Scooby and Shaggy The Dog Catcher and a flea collar Tom and Jerry Ghostbusters Who you going to call? Why would you call that particular duo? Dean and Sam! Eye candy and capable but I'd make sure they did kill the werewolf, preferably before one of them slept with it. Plus, I'd ask if I could tag along.
I might not call anyone, have enough silver to smelt, so I'd dip in an air rifle pellet and use the silver coated pellet and shoot the werewolf myself. ;DAlright...you are a teenager again and have been sent to Beverly Hills High... Who would you date? Brandon, Steve, Dillon and David Who would be your best friend? Andrea, Kelly, Donna and Brenda Just in case you don't remember who is who: www.imdb.com/title/tt0098749/Date: Brandon, cute, honest, and studious like I was. Dillon was cool for the bad-boy angle but it wore thin quick.
Best friend: Brenda or Donna. Brenda as she was okay to hang around with so long as she didn't have the grump with Dillon. Or Donna since she was an air head but did have a good heart. You got kicked out of Beverly Hills for setting fire to the school and claiming you were killing the vampires in the gym.. ;D Now you are sent to Bayside High School from Saved by the Bell.. Who would you date? Zack, Screech or A.C. Slater Who would be your best friend? Kelly, Lisa or Jessie Just in case you forgot who is who: www.imdb.com/title/tt0096694/Date: Definitely, Zack. Best friend: Kelly.
Blimey those last two questions took me back aways! LOL!

AliDo your pupils actually swear at you then? I am shocked! Oh, God yes. Some of them cannot speak a sentence without punctuating it at least 4 times with f***. I have lost count the amount of times I have been told to go away and reproduce with myself. Are you the youngest Teacher at your school? I think, I am yep. Definitely the youngest in Science.Do you get to wear a White Coat? I do wear my white coat for practicals and demonstrations as long as it isn't too hot in the lab. I still use my one from my College days, 12 years old and still strong. Some staff wear theirs day in and day out to assert their authority, relying heavily on Milgram's authority experiment, that you follow orders of people in uniforms or white coats, unerringly.
When I don my lab coat and safety specs, the kids take note I am being safe and take the cue to be safe themselves. What would you ask/say to Jensen Ackles if/when you meet him? "Humadadadadahummmm" then when my mouth was under the control of my brain, "Hello, love your work, actually hated you in Smallville and Dark Angel but you have won me around. I find the hard but vulnerable sides of Dean very endearing, how much of Dean is a representation of Jensen. God, you are gorgeous and can I get you a coffee?"
I'm hoping it'd be out of a con setting other wise I might squeeze in a hi before being bustled off. What storylines do you think will happen in the next series of Supernatural? I'll just say, Lior, don't read, S2 spoilers!
Right, Sam has not come back right, I think there is going to be a deal with him, depending if we have the ratings for another season or not, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Winchester Boys show down. I also think, there is going to be the how can we save Dean element in and I hope it isn't a cop out. They are going to be going after the released demons and I wouldn't b surprised if we don't see Dean as the general of a demon fighting army.
I hope we get a good baddie and that it isn't Sam. The yellow-eyed demon was a great baddie, I actually liked the guy a lot and we need a decent replacement.Do you keep a Diary/Journal? Nah... Never have. I did try once, it lasted 3 days when I was 16 it turned into a log of housework mainly. LOL!What advise would you give me if I went in to Teaching? For the love of God, do not do it! Weekends, evenings go due to marking, or planning. Everyone says oh, teachers get 12 weeks of the year off. Wrong, Christmas is spent with the first batch of reports and GCSE internal assessment marking or AS/A2 coursework marking. Easter is spent with mock-SATs marking, reports and more GCSE internal assessment marking, and if you are lucky you get about 2 weeks in the summer hols to yourself. I have been into school 4 times so far for the day, to arrange stuff, I am also trying to sort out my planning for September.
Teaching Science there are 36 end of topic tests to mark if you teach one year each of year 7, 8 and 9. Then there are 2 end of year exams (one for year 7 and 8), 2 mock SATS papers to mark for year 9. For year 10 there are 12 internal assessments to mark (each average 8-12 pages), the same for year 11. Then there is coursework for your Post-16 groups. Plus regular marking (all books should be marked at least one a fortnight, so if you have 10 groups, that is 5 X 30 = 150 books per week to mark) and then your reports. You don't get the time in school to even plan your lessons properly so the rest has to be done in you own time. Also there are practical assessments for years 10 and 11 you need to sort out and complete all the paperwork, a minimum of 3 tries at each of the 4 skill areas.
You also have parent's evenings and you are lucky if you only get 5. Each last from 5:30pm to 9pm or 10pm and you don't get time off the next morning, you have to be in at the usual time. Then there is Open Evening again another 5pm to 10pm job plus setting up time and clearing up time, again no lie in the next day.
Then you have revision sessions which are unpaid and you a re obliged (read forced) into doing, a minimum of 2 or 3 per half term, going up to more when the SATs come around (probably around 6 per half term from February to May). And you are expected to attend GCSE revision days, the first 3 days of the Easter break, again unpaid.
Throw in the classroom behaviour you have to put up with, yes there are some kids who have been brought up correctly but they are in the minority, then thrown in writing letters home or phone calls home and abuse off parents (again you find a few who are supportive but most are like their kids, that's why the kids are the way they are), chasing kids who failed to attend detentions as well.
Additionally, if you have a form you are responsible for them and have to read through all their subject reports before making your report, also, chasing up uniform, non-attendance, behavioural issues again, also fund-raising for local charities and the school 3 times a year.
Do all that and still have the Head and senior staff wanting you to do more for school life.
Its a pretty bleak picture, despite all the good kids I have met, I wish I hadn't gone into teaching.Which famous person does your mom want to meet? Well, she met Richard Todd and was stoked, probably Winston Churchill but that's too late now. Probably Maggie Thatcher.

What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done? Who do you think could have played the character of Spike if JM wasn't hired? What's your favorite thing to do on your day off? Now that they are going to make Supernatural Busts, do you think they'll make Supernatural Action figures too? Are you going to collect? What would be your "dream" supernatural figure? Who's your favorite villian on Buffy/Angel and why? What still living Buffy/Angel character would make the best spinoff and how would you start out the first episode? What/who inspired you to become a science professor? How can we get more US girls into science, math careers? Do you collect any custom figures , if so what do you have? What's your favorite classic "English" meal?
Well, when I was younger (5-12) I used to enjoy black pudding. Until I found out why American's call it blood pudding... YUK! Probably a bacon buttie with brown sauce.
QUESTION: What's a bacon buttie?
Title: My Two Bums (the reason is, my surgical scar on my tummy bisects the stomach, looking like I have a front and a rear bum, I know TMI!)
Oh my, sorry to hear about the surgery luv, but at least you have a good sense of humor about it!
EDIT: Just realised this was missing... "You get the cards you are dealt and run with them, if that isn't a mixed metaphor!" ;D
Do you like pizza, if so, what toppings?
Farmhouse: Ham and Mushroom. And specifically Pizza Hut's stuffed crust![/quote]
Ham and mushroom sounds good.. they call it "farmhouse" over there? Interesting... When I was in the UK, my friend ordered an "English pizza", which had black pudding and the like in it.. it was truly disgusting to me... Although he enjoyed every mouthful..LOL>

Shaz...What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done? Thinking and don't know, probably dressing up as a fairy to go to work last Christmas. Tinsel around my waist and on the tops of my boots, white wings. LOL.Who do you think could have played the character of Spike if JM wasn't hired? I don't think I could begin to speculate. JM did it so well he was meant for the part. ;DWhat's your favorite thing to do on your day off? Read, potter in the garden or just chill. If its weekend when I am at work, catch up on personal stuff, as there is no time in the week. Now that they are going to make Supernatural Busts, do you think they'll make Supernatural Action figures too? Are you going to collect? What would be your "dream" supernatural figure? I hope so, but I don't know I think there is an undercurrent in place and it says a lot going for busts, its more of an acceptance Supernatural is aimed at a more adult audience. Eric Kripe was pretty vague when quizzed.
I'd love a Devil's Trap boxed set one of John, Dean and Sam in the trashed car a mini diorama as it were and also a Meg in chair under the Devil's Trap with Dean, Sam and Bobby.Who's your favorite villian on Buffy/Angel and why? Angelus. Two words: Leather. Pants. LOL! Angelus is the dark side we'd all like to let loose, sexy, dark and appealing. The original bad boy. What still living Buffy/Angel character would make the best spinoff and how would you start out the first episode? I'd like to say Giles but with regular recurring stars (Spike, Willow, Xander). I'd love to pair Giles with Illyria and see where that goes. Probably have the first episode dealing with a flash back of NFA and Spike, Illyria, Angel (Gunn'd be dead), turning up on Giles' doorstep. Angel'd run off to help Buffy. Spike would stick around initially to settle Illyria in with Giles and then would head off as a General of a Slayer team in England, so he'd be local to drop in on Giles. Giles and Illyria would focus on rebuilding the Watcher's Council with Illyria helping out.What/who inspired you to become a science professor? How can we get more US girls into science, math careers? I had a great teacher in Yrs 9, 10 and 11 who was actually my form tutor in Yr 8, called Mr Boulton, he liked Chemistry, his lessons were fun, we did experiments etc and I enjoyed it. I then went to College to do my A-Levels (aged 16-18) and my Chemistry teacher was called Dr John Sleigh, he was amazing, he loved Chemistry and it came over and I thrived in the lessons. I enjoyed Biology too but the teaching staff seemed sterner for the GCSEs and A Levels so I did it more because I was interested. Just blessed with 2 excellent Chemistry teachers, I guess.
Hmmm, its difficult to get girls into Sciences. They tend to opt for Biology (well over here they do) because its nature/plants/animals/humans I suppose. The lessons have to be more appealing. I had girls say to me they hated Chemistry last September without ever doing a proper lesson on it. I said give it a chance and as soon as we did the Chemistry modules they loved it. Science has to be seen as being fun and exciting. When I go back in September I am actually going to have a pic up of Abby from NCIS with a sign saying "Who said Science is boring?". Until you break the boring cycle you cannot really do much. BUT TV shows like CSI and Bones are showing Science and Maths for that matter can be exciting and you can have interesting careers.Do you collect any custom figures , if so what do you have? I have 3, all of Ms Bigs: Beep Me Buffy, The Morning After Buffy from S6 when she broke the building with Spike and 1950's Rebel-Without-a-Cause Angel from Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been? What would your "dream date" in the real world be like? What type of person are you attracted to? Besides, Jensen of course. A walk out in somewhere nice, a nice meal (home cooked is fine), just so we could sit and talk and relax. Adventurous aren't I?
Attracted to? Erm, I prefer guys my height or a taller (I'm 5'8" in stocking feet), my age or a bit older. Never considered younger chaps but you never know.... As for appearances, tidy, dark or blond not bothered. Just a nice person, I want the whole package rather than a good looking hottie with the emotional depth of a drained paddling pool. What did you think of Princess Diana? I think she had a hard go of it. Yes, she was naive in a way, but I think Charles had a lot to answer for. If he'd have kept it in his pants and stopped his relations with Camilla I truly believe she'd be alive today. I makes me very angry to think that bastard is going to be King one day and Horseface his Queen. Cos whatever is said Horseface won't be Consort, she'll be Queen. Can't believe they actually thought the populace would fall for that bunkum. I think it was Charles' manner that drove Diana into looking at other men and his openness about Horseface too. What's the meaning of life (I have to ask everyone this!)? To be born, to work, to suffer and die.
I hope there is something at the end of all this but I am not holding my breath. Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, what was your favorite costume to dress up as? We kinda celebrate Halloween, I hand little electric pumpkin lights in the front window and also have a scary candle holder. But I don't dress up. Britain hasn't caught up with the US yet... Halloween is very much a case of a half-dozen surly kids hammering on your door with maybe a mask between them, demanding a £5 each or the do your cars in.What's the best gift you ever received, ever gave? I'd like to think that Jen (PG) liked the 1st Shot Prophecy Girl pre-production figure as the best gift. I knew she really wanted one and I bugged Paul Moore to find me a second one after I had one off him.
As for ever received, I think I have loads of things over the years from different people that qualify, my dad bought me my first PC when I was 10 for example. Or last Christmas Jen got me Supernatural S1 and some other goodies. Both examples of being special but in different ways.More randomness to follow.. I'm sure... Cool!

Probably a bacon buttie with brown sauce.QUESTION: What's a bacon buttie? Essentially a bacon sandwich. More Brit slang for you. LOL. Two pieces of (traditionally) white bread, buttered/spread two rashers of crisp freshly cooked bacon and brown sauce, cut in half on the diagonal. Yum!Title: My Two Bums (the reason is, my surgical scar on my tummy bisects the stomach, looking like I have a front and a rear bum, I know TMI!)Oh my, sorry to hear about the surgery luv, but at least you have a good sense of humor about it! GerryKate or Ziva? Kate. Ziva has not grown in me really yet. I don't have her as much as I did at the start of S3, maybe in S4 she'll grow on me more. Of your five senses, which is your favorite? Smell (though I suppose taste is linked to smell), I love to smell all the aromas in the garden from my plants. Sweet peas and hyacinths are my favourites. ;DDo you have a favorite poem? Proper poems, them "If" by Kipling (He makes eccedingly good cakes, don't you know? ). Made up ones, I have these two:
Firstly: "Everybody's doing it, doing it, doing it, Picking their nose and chewing it, chewing it, chewing it, See that big one standing over there, See him flick his bogies in the air!"
Secondly: "Don't jump off the roof mom, You'll make a hole in the yard, Father's just planted petunias, The weeding and seeding was hard, If you must end it all mom, Won't you please give us a break, Just take a walk to the park mom, And there you can jump in the lake!"What was the first audio tape you owned? first CD? Tape: Bros "When Will I be Famous?" album (I didn't know at the time the answer would be never!)
CD: Bryan Adams - "Waking Up the Neighbours" album.

Which birthday was your best birthday?
What is your favorite breakfast?
Who would win in a fight, ninjas or pirates? What if they were zombies?

GerryWhich birthday was your best birthday? Probably my 18th, was hoping I was going to be 18 'til I died, cannot believe 10 years have gone "zoooom" in a flash. What is your favorite breakfast? Fluctuates depending on my mood... Can be toast with marmalade, Weetabix, or occasionally, if they are on sale, mom buys a pack of ready made crepe style pancakes, if I feel really naughty and/or lazy I'll have them with a splash of maple syrup. Currently, eating for brekkie porridge with a half-handful of sultanas with half-glass orange juice. Been trying to increase my fruit portions in a day, with those I hit 2, with a mix of 3 of apple/banana/plum/nectarine/cherries throughout the day I hit 5.Who would win in a fight, ninjas or pirates? What if they were zombies? Ninjas, pirates would be too drunk and the ninjas would stealthily kill them. If they were zombies, pirates definitely, mindless, rampaging flesh eating pirates would tear the zombie ninjas apart.

What's the best piece of advice you were ever given.. and/or gave? When you get engaged, what type of diamond would you like? Do you have tatoos, if not, would you get one? If so, what is it of? How do your students rate you as a teacher? Do they do teacher evals? What was your proudest moment? At the end of it all, how would you like people to remember you? Last meal.. what would it be? ShazWhat's the best piece of advice you were ever given.. and/or gave? "Don't eat the yellow snow!"When you get engaged, what type of diamond would you like? Funny thing is, although I wear jewellery (bracelets, rings etc) I am not a real fan of diamonds. A small diamond or an amethyst stone would be fine with me. I like amethysts. White gold looks nice but tarnishes too easily. I'd probably have a silver engagement ring knowing me... See guys, I'm cheap! ;DDo you have tattoos, if not, would you get one? If so, what is it of? I don't have any. Always wanted the superman Shield on my arm, kind of like that but a bit smaller.
But two things stop me: tattoos are a bit too permanent and I hate needles. How do your students rate you as a teacher? Do they do teacher evals? They don't per se but there is a new initiative the government brought in called "Pupil Voice" where they get to comment on everything from the running of the school to punishments given to courses offered to lesson activity. Not a good idea IMO.
I did have some Post-16 students to and tell the Deputy Head and Assistant Head that I was the best teacher they had ever had and they were thankful they had me for A-Level Biology. Which was really out of the blue and it touched me a lot. They also near rioted when their proper member of staff came back from illness and took the Yr 12s back over, the Year 13 flat refused to have the old teacher back and said they'd refuse to attend lessons if they didn't keep me and the Year 12s kicked up a right fuss. It was kind of embarrassing. The Year 12s had their old teacher back (I had had both groups from October until February) so some dropped out completely.
The one Yr 13 lad who I loved to bits got a Grade A and has gone to Oxford, he said he was thankful to me as I had inspired him to do well and encouraged and supported him, he had the other teacher in Yr 12 and hated Biology and got a low Grade B for the year. There was also a girl, who was also great, she got a Grade A and went to Birmingham Uni.
The younger kids like me as I try to make Science fun. When I went back in June I had a rush of 30 year 7 kids run full tilt at me as they were excited I was back. They said since I went off at the end of January they had done no experiments, which I thought was not only sad but unprofessional of my colleagues.
Some of the naughties don't like me at all, one tried to persuade his mate to elope from detention and his mate wouldn't go saying I would only hunt them down and that would be worse. LOL!What was your proudest moment? Passing my driving test the first time after only 12 lessons with no minor/major faults. ;DAt the end of it all, how would you like people to remember you? That I was honest and always there to help.Last meal.. what would it be? Probably home made lasagna or gammon and chips with pineapple rings.Did you ever read the Diary of Adrian Mole? If so, what did you think? Never have, doesn't really appeal. What's the most exciting thing that's ever happened to you? Meeting all those stars over the years. LOL!

I'm sure the kids love you as you make science fun.. which to me is the key! Another Brit food question: What's gammon and chips with pineapple rings? Is it fish and chips? Even though, I haven't commented on all I (esp. that Babs remark!!), I have loved all your very honest answers. It's been nice to get to know you better (and I've also learned more brilliant Brit slang)!

ShazI'm sure the kids love you as you make science fun.. which to me is the key! ;DAnother Brit food question: What's gammon and chips with pineapple rings? Is it fish and chips? Gammon is a cut of pork, its the equivalent of steak from a cow I suppose. Usually you eat gammon with fried eggs and/or pineapple also size wise it comes in the 4/6/8 ounze varieties. I don't like eggs so just have the pineapple.
Fish and chips is fish and chips or cod and chips. Unless otherwise noted at the chippie (chip shop) the fish in the "fish and chips" should be white and it should be cod. Even though, I haven't commented on all I (esp. that Babs remark!!), I have loved all your very honest answers. It's been nice to get to know you better (and I've also learned more brilliant Brit slang)! Thanks. Each to their own, you like Barbara, I respect that, you know I don't like her. We can disagree. Heck we have enough men in common we like! ;D I call it how I see it, to me a spade is a spade. (Spade being a large gardening shovel in case there is a cultural loss).Re: My random Adrian Mole question- one of my Brit friends turned me onto Adrian Mole and I thought it was hilarious (at least the first one). I'll put it on my reading list. I grew up with the TV show and it didn't appeal to me as a show, so reading the book seemed pointless.
