I just watched this film, and I was pretty disappointed.
For anyone who thinks it looks like a good comedy, I wanted to warn you that this is one of those movies where they edit the previews to make it look like a comedy when it is anything but a comedy.
There are very few jokes in this film. The previews also make it look like it is about a comedian like political satirist like Jon Stewart getting elected president and the zany antics that happen.
It's not.
It's a drama through and through with some bad jokes that have been recycled for ten years thrown in here and there when Robin Williams character appears on TV. It's not nearly as funny as the average Daily Show episode.
The sotry is about a computer glitch in the automated voting system and the company's efforts to cover it up. But mostly it's just a really convoluted story.
The story had holes you could drive a truck through.
There might be people who would really like this movie, but just be warned that it is not a comedy or a lark, if that's what you are looking for.

Me and my friend saw this in theaters hoping for a really funny movie after a crappy day and we were stuck with a pile of crap. By the end we were board and annoyed at how this movie was nothing like it was promoted.
Though the movie had some good points, and if I went in expecting a drama I may have been less hard on it, but in the end I was just very unhappy with the entire thing.
I was hoping for a comedic prez doing wacky things... oh well, what can you do? 2 hours I'll never get back.
I don't understand why, even for the DVD promos, they still promote it as a comedy and the DVD cover even looks like a comedy... Bad, bad choice on their part.
