Snakes on a Plane. I hate snakes! Oh, how did you like it, Vicks? I saw the Bourne Ultimatum last night. The action was decent, but it was so emotionless and cold that it just didn't hold my interest. I thought Live Free or Die Hard was a much better action movie. I saw the Simpsons movie on Christmas, but it just seemed like a long Simpsons episode to me. Not very funny, either. South Park did a much better job with their movie, IMO.

I just saw "Hairspray" (2007 Musical) and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The movie was actually fun.
I was apprehensive at first about seeing the movie. I have always loved John Waters 1988 version (starring Rikki Lake and Divine) and have enjoyed the original's "Cult" status. so naturally I was Leary of seeing yet another remake of a classic movie.
but like I said I was surprised. The 2007 version of Hairsray is more of an updated homage to the original instead of a remake. The producers re-invented the story so much that you can watch both films and not be disappointed
The movie is a musical and Introduces Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad and has an all star cast including the likes of Queen Latifia, James Marsden, Christopher Walken, Zac Efron, Michelle Pheiffer, Amanda Bynes and most notably John Travolta.
John Travolta plays Tracy's Mom Edna Turnblat (the character which was first portrayed by Divine). For those not familiar with The movies of John Waters or the original movie version of "Hairsray" Edna has always been played by a man in drag...an homage to John Water's friend and star of his earlier movies; Divine. In the Broadway musical versions Edna has been played by Harvey Fierstein, Bruce Villanche and currently George Wendt (norm from Cheers)
I have to say that John portrayed Edna as a real woman with a good heart and I have to admit after the first initial shock of seeing John travolta in a complete body "Fat suit" and in drag you quickly forget that Edna is John in drag and focus on a great character. the love scene Musical number with Christopher Walken is fun and endearing
The music is fun; the dancing really good; Cool and retrospective If you love fun Musicals (In the tradition of films like "Grease") I recommend that you see "Hairspray"

I enjoyed all films just mentioned. snakes on a plane - great cheesy fun. Felt like watching a typical diaster 90's film but with up to date special effects. I loved it! bourne identity - vicks did you get it off itv2 like me? lol. I loved it. Great action etc, cant wait to watch the 2 sequels. And as a hater of musical I was surprised by how much i enjoyed hairspray. I just watched some tragic french film about a jewish boy hiding out in a french boarding school in nazi occupied france. Had a tragic endding...the last scene was really haunting. And as someone who isnt the most emotional person when it comes to films I did want to shed a tear.

No James, got dad the Collector's boxed set for Christmas.
Watched The Bourne Supremacy, not as good in terms of impact as Identity but still good.
Also watched the Pacifier today (BBC1), Vin Diesel is funny but the film wasn't as comedic as it could have been.

OOPss... I watched alot of Holiday films over the break. Ummm.... we watched Just Friends, with Ryan Reynolds and Chris Klein. I thought it was pretty funny. Ryan plays a former geek who becomes a record exec/player and goes back to his hometown during the holidays to revisit his former unrequited crush and best friend the cheerleader. Much humilation of the "cool" Ryan character commences. I thought it was a light fluffy fun-romantic comedy.
