I thought it was a pretty decent episode, it could've had a little more than 2 of the main characters in it though. I think Desmond's time slips are quite interesting like the episode in the 3rd season where he's in an alternate reality. Finally actual contact off the island! What did everyone else think?

I thought it was great that they were auctioning off the ledger from the Black Rock. With Penny's dad buying it, do you her dad are who the people on the boat work for? That would explain how they know Penny, but wouldn't answer when she called.

I have mixed opinions on this episode.
I had people really hype it up and say it was awesome so when i got around to watching it last night i was left a little unimpressed. Next week looks much better though.
I just feel like this season we have hardly anything action on the island and its all the flashbacks or stuff with these new helicopter people. I miss the days when the episodes would explore human emotions and relations rather than bombard us with more questions and random scifi stuff of time travelling etc.
Say that though i did enjoy the penny/desmond exchange at the end, good ole lost emotional scene. Gotta love those.
Im looking forward to next weeks as the preview made it look a lot more action packed and a lot more set on the island with something actually happening with these new characters and what their 'mission' is.

That would explain how they know Penny, but wouldn't answer when she called. I never realised that. With so much stuff the remember and think about I easily forget stuff that has happened! I wonder if the time-slips have resolved now because Desmond has his connection, I hope so, I like Desmond. I wonder if this is how some of the cast will die? The whole time slip thingy?

I think the time slip only happened to Desmond because he turned off the magnetic charge thing in the hatch. That is why Sayid had no effect. So I think it was just a one off problem that happened and we got a good chance to learn more about Penny.

But if it's because of the magnetic charge from the hatch, I wonder why Daniel also has the time slips because he did have the note saying Desmond would be his constant which would obviously mean he has slips too.

I think he wrote that down in case it happened to him. It also may be from all his labwork he was doing with the rat and maze.

That is part of the beauty of Lost, it is always full of maybe's, could be's and, possiblies.
