Well for christmas I got the complete tru calling series.
Im on disc....3 or 4 and Im bloody loving it!!!!!!!
At first I thought it was okay but now Iv really gotten into the characters...and the theme tune is just wicked lol.
Eliza is brilliant in it and is Davis (dunno actors name) her mentor. And all the dynamics between the characters like tru and her brother...and then her brother and her best friend etc.
The last episode I watched was 'Reunion' which was great fun.
My favourite so far has been 'death in the morgue' with the birde when she is shot and then Davis is shot and tru just dodges the bullet as she is going back in time...so good!
Any other tru calling watchers?

I loved the show. And you'd see how well it develops later on...it's a shame Fox canceled the show just when it got really interesting.

I've always wondered if there was any information on what plots the writers had for the future of the show? Does anyone know where they planned to take it? I thought Jason Priestley's character was pretty interesting.

Well I finished the first season last night.
OMGOMG...this show is stunning...I cant believe it was cancelled! I know all my questions will not be answered which is a right bitch...
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The death of Luke was tragic as I was so sure he was going to end up with tru in the end....I couldnt believe it when I saw him in the coffin on the funeral. Wedding of Lyndsey...Im guessing this means shes off to to live in London....ah well...good ridance she was rather annoying although I feel bad for Tru losing another friend. Storyline with Jack being her opposite and grimreaper-ish is frigging awesome...works so well and the whole 'This is ON' battle-esque thing going on in the end was amazing tv. But I know I will not get the whole answer to the mystery about Trus dad and mother...and by the way...the last twist at the end with her dad was unforgettable....Im so upset this show was axed.

I always wanted to watch that show but never got the chance to! Since my lil' sister owns the DVD boxsets, I am waiting to be in France again to watch 'em.
How many seasons were done? 2? Is Jason Priestley in both ( I can't stand him!)?

Is Jason Priestley in both ( I can't stand him!)? There were 2 seasons (26 episodes in total), JP is in most of them (he joined in middle of season 1).

This show rocked! I thought the plot was great, and almost every episode was interesting in one way or another. Clearly we are alone in thinking so highly of the show! Was the show dropped simply because of low ratings?

Was the show dropped simply because of low ratings? As far as I remember it wasn't much of "low rating" but more because Fox though the ratings weren't as high as they wanted. Basically, not good enough for them.

I watched this show when it aired, because Eliza was in it. I thought it started out ok but after they re-tooled it I was hooked. And, though I didn't think much of Jason Priestly (only knew him from 90210) I thought he was excellent in this show. Tru Calling is one of the reasons I hate Fox. As soon as a show starts to get its feet, get really interesting, it gets cancelled and replaced with a lame reality show.

This was a great show. Just when it was getting awesome, Fox cancelled it. I would love to have seen more with Tru's newest boyfriend and what was going to happen with him.

I've read in some of interviews with the writers that he was supposed to become a completely different person, as if he "lost" his soul up to a point when he murders his father and Tru has to save him. Fox are really stupid with their cancel-happy attitude. They have canceled way too many good shows (Firefly, Tru Calling, Wonderfalls...).

Fox really screwed this show over. It was an amazing show and had it's own original idea, it's just so unfortunate that it didn't last long. Eliza Dushku was perfect in this and I think that she deserved at least 2 full seasons. The character of Tru Davies was just so unique.
