Well, recent news paper reports over here in the UK are suggesting that as Lost is losing viewers that the network is going to go to episode 100 and then wrap it up.
Lack of sponsorship and audience members are being sighted as the reason.
Writers are quoted as not knowing where to take the story line but hoping to go out with a bang!
What do you all think?

Man, as much as I love Lost , I think they can't really go that far after 3 or 4 seasons. The writers are trying to extend the storylines but after a while, what else can they show? Sawyer learning how to walk on his hands and Kate dancing around trees? more and more flashbacks? I'd rather see Lost over, with 3 or 4 great seasons, instead of an endless show that lacks quality.

James (Stakey) mentioned that Lost was planned for 5 seasons in the first place. So 100 episodes would mean they'd have to cut about 10 episodes of their original planing, which still means the story gets to be told.

i saw that in the paper today about just having 100 episodes. i pressumed that because sky had purchased it (instead of channel 4) that it was doing really well.
if they do finish earlier than planned i hope that they dont rush the storylines. i remember that happened in 'point pleasant' and it ruined it.
