Oh damn, lots happened.
Ask Kristin from E! online had leaked that one of the four main characters (Clark, Lex, Lana, or Chloe) would die in the season finale. The producer of the show added, "Who said it would be just one?"
So I was emotionally preparing myself for Chloe dying and maybe Lana, too. Good thing!
That sucked that Chloe's tear brought Lois back to life, but only at the cost of Chloe dying. I thought it was either that, or the blast that came out of Lois whenn Chloe's tear hit her face killed Chloe. Either way, Chloe's dead. I don't think she'll be coming back. I makes sense for her to die, since she isn't in the Superman mythology. Of course, it was Lois's idiocy that put Chloe in that situation. Lois drives me crazy with how she puts herself into such dangerous situations without a good escape or backu plan.
Lana dying in the explosion is another story. I honestly don't think she's really dead. I think she faked her own death to escape Lex. When she ran to her SUV, a postal type truck came between her and Lionel. She left Lionel's line of sight as she was supposedly getting into her SUV. I think she hid and blew up the SUV with a remote. I just wonder if she put a dead body into the SUV to make it convincing.
I loved when Clark told her he was an alien and she kissed him. That was so cool. The dork should have done it a long time ago.
I'm still not buying Lionel as a good guy. Good guys don't do stuff like forcing an innocent girl to marry someone by threatening to kill someone else. His excuse was that it was to "help" Clark. However, if Lionel thought that Lex had something, he could have told Clark. Clark could break in and steal anything. No, Lionel is a bad man, even if he's trying to do the right thing. Kind of like Spike with a chip. He tried to do the right thing, but he didn't have an internal moral compass.
I liked the fight with Bizarro Clark pretty well. I loved when Clark threw Lionel into the wall. Martian Manhunter is a pretty interesting character. I like the guy they cast in the role.
My guess is that they'll wait a few episodes next season to reveal that Lana is still alive, kind of like what they did in one season of Xena, taking Renee O'Connor out of the credits to make us think that Gabrielle was dead.
The best part of the episode was Clark being thrown from the impact of the crash between he and Phantom Clark, then the Phantom flying off into the sky. His face cracking was an awesome effect! Isn't Bizarro Superman's faced cracked, or something? I know I've seen a Bizarro Superman that looked like that.
