*jumps up and down gleefully*
WOO HOO!!!
YAY!
This is SO awesome! I love Lynda Carter, obviously. I saw her on a Law and Order episode not too long ago. I heard that she was in the Dukes of Hazard movie, but I never saw it.
I'm also excited to find out what Chloe's mom is really like, Was she really mentally ill, or was that just a story Chloe's dad told her? I think it will be a very fun, revealing episode.
I know they'll make at least one reference to Wonder Woman. This show can never resist such references, from having Jon Schneider listening to the Dukes of Hazard theme song in his car, to Tom Wopat coming on the show driving a General Lee type car, to the many references to the grown up Superman mythology, such as "Can you imagine Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter" or calling Clark's loft in the barn his "Fortress of Solitude" long before he created that ice fortress in the Arctic Circle to all the times that Clark and Lois say that they would never date. It's all a tongue and cheek irony.
I think that the writers must also be major Star Wars fans. Clark has said two or three times in scenarious where someone evil was trying to get him to turn to evil, "I'll never join YOU!" a la Luke Skywalker to Darth Vader. It's such a cliche now. Plus, in old one Jonathon Kent said to Clark, "Clark, I am your father." It was so Darth Vader. I mean, Jonathon is nothing like Darth, obviously. But the wording was there.
I love all of those references. The way I imagine them doing a reference to Wonder Woman might be Chloe yelling at her mom, "You abandon me as a child, then swoop in once I'm grown and expect me to think you're some kind of wonder woman?"
Just an idea. That'd be funny.

I just saw the preview for this episode. It looks like Chloe's mom really was in an institution all this time. Lex is also involved in a bad way. He's getting so evil so fast on this show.
The preview made it look like Chloe's mom might die. That's so awful! I was hoping we'd get more than one episode of Lynda Carter!
I still have so many questions about this season, like what exactly was wrong with Lana's baby and is it really dead? I mean, I think they should have played the storyline out.

I dunno, something funny.^^ I want her to wear a tiara!

It looks like they're taking the seriously dramatic route with this storyline. But you never know what kind of twist it will take. Smallville likes to surprise us and the CW isn't known for making very accurate previews. I love the casting they've done on this show. First, having Annette O'Toole, the original Lana Lang from the Superman movies play Martha Kent was awesome. I love that nod to the past. Then bringing Christopher Reeve in to guest star was inspiring. Who wouldn't love that? When Christopher Reeve died, they brought Margot Kidder, the first Lois Lane from the movies (not the first Lois Lane of all time) in as CR's protege was just the coolest. It's kind of like how they had Jack Larson, the original Jimmy Olsen from the George Reeves TV show, do a guest spot on the most recent Superman movie. Honoring the past of the Superman (or WW) history is cool, even though this show takes some serious liberties with the Superman mythology.

No Wonder Woman references! Darn!
This was quite a tragic episode. Of course, lately, all Smallville episodes are tragic.
I just kept thinking how gorgeous Lynda Carter is. Even at her age, thirty years after she played Wonder Woman, she's just incredibly gorgeous.
I thought it was sad that she and Chloe didn't get more time together. They had barely any time. It was just a tearjerker when she went back into the coma before Chloe's eyes.
Lex is so creepy. Man, he's just getting darker and darker. I was wishing that Clark had let Chloe kill him. What a pain.
So--- it must have been Lex who faked Lana's pregnancy. FREAKY! I guess that's what the doctor had over his head the whole time and why he killed the guy. I wonder if he gave her the "vitamins" that were really the synthetic hormones. Seems like the only explanation.
I wish Lana would get it together and tell Clark that she only married Lex because his dad threatened to kill Clark with kryponite. I hate all that keep it to yourself, martyr stuff. This show is famous for it!
Lex is just getting darker and darker. He's such a mega control freak. He thinks he has a right to control everyone else's lives. Meglomaniac much?
At the end Clark declared war on Lex. It sounds like the last episodes of the season will be very intense!

I was upset too with the lack of Wonder Woman reffs... I was hoping at the end there would be SOMETHING, but oh well...
I still really enjoyed the episode and I agree that Lynda Carter looks simply amazing. She took REALLY good care of herself cause she is just stunning, and she still has the lovely blue eyes.
The episode was so upsetting, but had some cool stuff, Lynda's performace was great, how she changed emotions at the very end, her tears and everything... it was just... god she needs to win something!
The Lex/Lana stuff I could really care less about... I personally am not a fan of Lana and Lex... he is creepy. I was so shocked on how long Clark let that missle-thing move before pushing Lex aside. It was like... - ... that close!
I feared for Chloe's life the entire episode! The end was really touching when Clark tells her he told her mother everything about her... so sweet.
Side note, I hated Young Chloe... something about her REALLY bugged me...
So good episode, I also really like how Smallville is helping with the Christiphor & Dana (is that her name?) Reeves foundation. Its great to see people care, though I thought it was a bit strange Lois was doing the promo since she like didn't appear in the episode. At first I thought it was part of the episode.

The Lex/Lana stuff I could really care less about... I personally am not a fan of Lana and Lex... he is creepy. I was so shocked on how long Clark let that missile-thing move before pushing Lex aside. It was like... - ... that close! That was interesting that Clark waited so long to stop the missile thing. I was wondering if he was wondering if he should just let the missile hit Lex and end everyone's misery. Wish he had! I feared for Chloe's life the entire episode! The end was really touching when Clark tells her he told her mother everything about her... so sweet. I was scared for Chloe, too. Lex is more and more like his evil dad, Lionel. I think the Lana/Lex storyline is interesting because it is showing Lex's descent into evil. I think that the whole show has been about how Lex Luthor turns evil. When Lex killed Lana's doctor on his and Lana's wedding day was the moment he went past the point of no return. But now we know what he and the doctor were talking about all that time about something wrong with Lana's pregnancy: She didn't have one! What loser. I've never heard of a man faking a pregnancy to trick the WOMAN into getting married. I'm fascinated about how Lana will react and what she'll say to Lex. Can she and Chloe even be friends now that Lex has threatened to destroy Chloe, send her to jail or far worse. Will Chloe go near Lana? Will Lana confide in Chloe or Clark about how Lex gave her synthetic hormones to make it seem like she was pregnant? The next few weeks will be fascinating! The end of a season is always really exciting. Side note, I hated Young Chloe... something about her REALLY bugged me.. I agree. My husband and I both felt like it was really bad casting. Taht little girl didn't look like she could ever grow up to be the Chloe we know and love. Chloe has huge eyes and a very sparkly, expressive face. As a child, her eyes would have looked even bigger in her child's face. The girl they cast didn't have big or especially pretty eyes, Her face was shaped wrong and she didn't have any likeness to Chloe, or cuteness in her personality. So good episode, I also really like how Smallville is helping with the Christopher & Dana (is that her name?) Reeve foundation. Its great to see people care, though I thought it was a bit strange Lois was doing the promo since she like didn't appear in the episode. At first I thought it was part of the episode. That was very cool that they are continuing to support the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation. It was just tragic that she died too this past year. I realy feel for their child. She had a very hard life these past few years since his accident, but she handled it with more grace than I can imagine. I love the Superman dog tags idea. They are very cool. I was at first surprised that they used Lois/Erica Durance, but then she made the point that Dana was Christopher Reeve's "Lois." I thought that was very sweet, even though on Smallville Lois is nowhere close to a soulmate or even love interest of Clark's yet. But we all know she's his destiny! I got to get me some of those Superman dog tags.

OK, I'm so confused. Can someone help me with Chloe's mom's situation?
I probably remember it wrong, but didn't they say in the episode with Lynda Carter that Chloe's mom had been in a coma for years, but Lex's doctor had made the serum to bring her out of it? And didn't they say that Chloe hadn't known her mom before that episode? Did I just not hear it right?
I just watched a rerun of Tomb, an episode from 2006. Chloe goes to a mental hospital and meets her mom at the end for the first time since her mom left her when she was 12 (wasn't Chloe actually 10 when her mom left her in the Lynda Carter episode?).
In Tomb, Chloe goes up to a woman in the mental hospital with dirty blond hair and hugs her.
Did they just change the mythology or was Chloe supposed to already know her mom, but her mom went into the coma just recently? I can see that they'd do a generic hair color for the mom before, since they didn't have a plan yet for her mom being in an episode.

The previously clearly shows her approching that woman... But I dunno... maybe it was the doctor and she thought she was her mother, since the doctor did look pretty similar... Who knows, it just seems weird but I think it has been her mother has been in a coma for a few years.

Diglee, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's confused. At the end of the Tomb episode, the lady in the hospital was stroking Chloe's face. Doesn't seem very doctorly. I guess I gotta rewatch what exactly Chloe said was wrong with her mom on the episode two weeks ago. But it could just be bad continuity.

But I think it was a bad choice to show the mother in Tomb... Cause personally Lynda Carter is the only mother that works for me. But for the most part Smallville is pretty good with the continuity.
