The Justice League is together! Woo hoo!
It was so fun to see this episode. They all worked together so beautifully!
It was like a work of art.
I love this kind of stuff. With the five of them walking in slow motion and the Luthor Corp building blowing up behind them. *Borat Voice* "Very NICE!"
I like how they gave them the super hero names as code names to use during the mission, with Chloe, codename "Watchtower", orchestrating the whole thing.
I know that purist comic devotees aren't hip to the way Smallville has made up it's own mythology for Superman and the JLA. It would have been interesting to see it played ou the historical way, but I like this story too.
I'm sad that Oliver is gone. I really liked him around. I hope they bring the JLA back a lot, and that Lex keeps that scar. It would make him more interesting. I think Lionel is a great villian, but the actor who plays Lex is pretty blah to me.

I loved this episode also. I think that it was well written and definitely has possibilities to be a reoccurring story line (which would be awesome!) I also like the "Smallville" take on the Justice League I find it interesting and it works for this series. It would have been nice if they would have followed the DC canon a little closer but since they couldn't legally, this is a nice substitute The original Justice League in the comics line-up is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter. With both Wonder Woman & Batman franchises offering future projects The Smallville producers could not use those characters (at least for now). I also found the names really interesting and fun. I especially like the name "Boy Scout" for Clark and "Watch Tower" for Chloe. I really liked the nice homage to the comics when they used the name "Impulse" for Bart Allen's character. Impulse was the original name in the comics for the character that would become the Flash. The Martian Manhunter will be on Smallville later this season (the crushed Oreos that Clark found in previous episode was the first reference to this) I was sad to see the Green Arrow's departure from Smallville but I think that with Green Arrow's popularity, Green Arrow will surely return (who knows maybe a spin off series...well I can hope... )

SPIN-OFF! What an awesome idea! That would be great. I like the whle JLA crew, except I think they could have cast the Flash better. He's such a squirrelly dork. He doesn't add anything. I didn't know that Flash's original name was impulse. That's cool. I love information like that.
So is the Cyborg guy a real superhero? Did he originally have a different name? I haven't watched Smallville for that long, so I haven't seen the episode he was in before.
It's too bad they can't have Wonder Woman on the show, at least every now and a again. That would be fun. I know that Joss is working on a Wonder Woman movie. Is anyone working on a WW TV show? Smallville does it's own mythology, so it seems like they should be able to bring charactrs in separtely from movies that are done at the same time. They're doing Superman movies now that have nothing to do with Smallville.
I'm just such a Wonder Woman fan, I'm all for as much Wonder Woman as we can get!
Does it bug anyone else that Chloe, the only reporter in the bunch, gets to know EVERYONE'S secret identity, but these guys don't tell their own girlfriends? Does that seem silly, especially when Chloe is cousin's with the Green Arrow's girlfriends and friends with Clark's ex, Lana?
Also, I haven't seen all of this season's episodes. What is Clark referring to about the thing he did that he has to stay in Smallville to fix? What is he talking about?

I heard that it was Joss that prevented the use of Wonder Woman in Smallville. His reasoning was that since he hasn't cast the actress to play Wonder Woman and the story hasn't been written yet, Joss didn't want Smallville to influence the character. Cyborg (Victor Stone) is a fictional DC Comics superhero best known as a member of the Teen Titans. Created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez, he first appeared in DC Comics Presents #26 (October 1980). You can read more about the orgins of the comic version of Cyborg here... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyborg_(comics)(you will have to paste the link into the web browser to work... including the word(comics)) At the end of last season Clark was imprisioned in the Phantom Zone by Zod. The Phantom Zone (same as in the movie) is a prison created by Jor-El to house the worst Kryptonian prisoners. Since the Phantom Zone was a dimension in space it wasn't destroyed when Krypton blew up. When Clark escaped from the Phantom Zone at the beginning of this season, he inadvertedly let loose Kryptons worst convicts (Zod was one). Now Clark Feels that he has to round up all of the escapees and keep them from harming earth

Thanks so much for the explanation, Scotty.
I did see the ones where Clark was trapped and escaped, but I didn't realize that was what he was referring to as what he had to take care of.
That's also interesting about Cyborg. Have you read all of the DC Comics? You're quite the expert!

My favorites being Superman, JLA, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow & Green Lantern. I also used to study the art work in the graphic novels (still do) and I did quite a lot of practicing drawing the characters, I find that drawing the super heroes help you get a good grasp on drawing human anatomy. Unfortunately I do not know that much of the newer story lines since it has been years since I did any comic book reading but I am familiar with a few of the basic origins of some of the characters I also find this site a big help with research, not only for potential drawings but for character's histories etc... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

I just looked up the Green Lantern on Wikipedia and discovered that there have been a number of different Green Lantern charcters. All but the first Green Lantern have been part of the Intergalactic Green Lantern Police Corp. I had no idea.
I'd always wondered about the difference between the Green Arrow and the Green Lantern. I loved the Superfriends when I was a kid. That's what they called the Justice League. They'd always say, "Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice."
It was my very favorite Saturday Monring cartoon. My little brother and I used to fight over whether we would watch the Superfriends (me) or Godzilla (him). It was a sadder, poorer time. We had only one TV and it was black and white!
I remember that they used to trot out random superheroes I'd never haerd of on that show to join the main cast of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Robin, Aquaman, and those odd Wonder Twins with their purple monkey, Gleek. What was up with that monkey?
South Park did a hilarious parody of the Superfriends with Jesus, Buddha, Moses, and maybe Mohammed (or Shivi?). I don't remember. Anyway, it was awesome.

During the 70's Green Lantern and Green Arrow hung out together and along with the Black Canary (Green Arrow's girlfriend) fought crime together. Another Green Lantern that I liked was Kyle Rayner, who's secret identity was a graphic artist. I also loved the Super friends when I was a kid (even though the animation was quite crude and not very good) I watced the show every Saturday also (I still watch it if I come across it on the tv) I never got the purple monkey, or wendy and marvin and their stupid dog either...

I loved this episode and love seeing the Justice League mixed in with Smallville. I really wish that the Aquaman series would've taken off but it seemed odd that they had a different actor, who is now the Green Arrow on Smallville.

I really wish that the Aquaman series would've taken off but it seemed odd that they had a different actor, who is now the Green Arrow on Smallville. I agree that Justin Hurtley would have made an awesome Aquaman and I would have liked to have seen the Aquaman series take off. I think that JH makes an even better Green Arrow... I do not know whether it is true or not, but I have heard that the CW is considering doing a Green Arrow TV series as a spin off of Smallville (one can only hope ). I am glad that when they did the episode "Justice" that kept the original actors that originally played Cyborg, Aquaman and Impulse from earlier Smallville episodes. It was great to see Alan Ritchson, who played Arthur Curry (Aquaman) in the episode "Aqua" again
