oh i have a question too. why doesnt clark change into superman and wear the costume? Smallville's storyline chronicles the life of a teenage Clark Kent Before he becomes Superman. The first few seasons show Clark gradually discovering his super powers. As each season progresses we see Clark evolving into Superman and Lex Luthor evolving from Clark's close friend into Superman's arch nemesis. The producers of the show stated at the beginning of the series that they wanted to show Clark's Transition therefore we wouldn't see Clark in the Superman Costume or see him fly. It was only in the last couple of seasons that they started hinting at Clark's flying ability though they do not dwell on it very much. It also should be said the producer's of Smallville take great liberties with the Superman and DC universe canon. the series doesn't follow Superman/ Clark's history exactly as portrayed in the Comic Books but most of the characters and basic storyline is there. That being said I still think that the show is Awesome

Lois arrives in season 4... I beleive... Though I could be wrong.
I remember some people were upset by Lois' early arrival, as most see Lois and Clark as meeting at the Daily Planet. But I think it works, the two have such great banter and the fact that you know they hook up in the end works so well for the two.
Though I think the highlight of the series is the original character of Chloe Sullivan. Surrounded by a slew of comic book characters (Clark, Lex, Pete, Lana...) Chloe works really well in the series, cause the underlining question is always "What will she become in the end?" and this season (6) they have really played around with what we thought Chloe really was.
And don't get me started on the awsome Justice League forming^^

Chloe as Watchtower was very cool. Even with all these people with supernatural gifts, Chloe stands out as being a truly gifted normal person.
I love Chloe. I think she's the best one for Clark. But, alas, she's not in the mythology, so she cannot be his destiny. My husband is always saying that she's the only one he'd date on that show. I think it's cute, cuz I love her too.
I like Lois a lot, though she's a little too brash self-absorbed, I think. I mean, Lois in the original movies was pretty self-absorbed, but this Lois is way more so. The dynamic between her and Clark makes it hard for me to imagine them together. The show is so much more about the angsty, longing, doomed love and Clark and Lana. It's hard to see the brother/sisterly insults between Clark and Lois as becoming a deeper, great love than the genuine caring and sacrifice that's gone on between Clark and Lana all these years. I guess it could happen if Lana was off the show completely and Lois and Clark had some actually deep interactions.
