I have another question, for Eva, or anyone else who might know.
Was Lionel Luther in any of the Superman comics, or is he a fabrication of the Smallville show?
I remember that Lex referred to his dad being in real estate in the first Superman movie. Was Luthor Corp and Lionel part of the comic mythology?

Lionel was created for the show.
According to the Silver Age history, Jules and Arlene are Lex's parents who disowned him when he became involved in crimes. They actually left with a young daughter and changed the family name and remained in hiding.
In the modern Superman history, Lex grew up in the slum side of Metropolis with an abusive father that caused him to turn to a life of crime.
In the comics, Lex is a scientific genius and gained his power by intelligence and made LexCorp himself.
I think they created Lionel to give Lex LurthorCorp since Lex is portrayed so young in the show. It would be more believable with Lex running a company his father owned rather him being so rich and powerful so young and not be a dot.com business LOL.

Thanks for the information.
I love Lionel as a character. He's a great villian. The actor is very cool.

Apparently, E4 is not going to show Season 6 over here in the UK until MAY at the earliest. That's almost 18 months since Season 5 started (12 months since the end of Season 5). What are they playing at?

I love this show and think that it's a shame that they didn't use Tom Welling for the new Superman Returns movies, but I guess that would've meant that the show couldn't continue and it wouldn't have made sense as Clark is supposed to be older and more mature in the movie. I really miss the character Pete and am still hoping that he will come back. It was nice to see so many character from Justice League this season.

I thought the same thing, Buffyfan, but I liked Brandon in the role.
I also think that the show has gone so far off of the movies' mythology that it would be weird to have Tom in the role.
Plus, the show keeps giving us fabulous entertainment. I can't believe how long it took me to catch onto it. It is incredibly well done and addictive.

I'm a big fan of Smallville myself, but unfortunately I've only seen the 1st season, lol. So I seriously have to watch out for spoilers in this thread. Hopefully soon I'll be able to afford season 2, because the cliff-hanger ending of season 1 is killing me, lol.

Bit of oddity for British fans: On Thursday 19:00 on ITV2, Smallville is being re-ran from the very beginning. It takes the place in the schedule of The New Adventures of Superman with Dean Cain.
I cannot help wondering is this shady deal between ITV and 4 is what's behind the delay with Season 6 on E4?

I have been watching Smallville on ITV2. I like this show. Are they going to re-run every season then? How many seasons are there? How much older is Lex to Clark? I always thought they were the same age for some reason.

ITV2 have the rights to Seasons 1 through 5 I believe, season 6 belongs to E4. As far as I am aware ITV2 are running the concurrently Wednesdays-Fridays.
I believe Clark is about 15/16 in Season 1 and Lex is 21 (may be 20). But may be I'll be corrected!
Its a shame its on at 7pm if it were on earlier it'd be nice to re-watch them from the start again.

15 years old? Damn, that's the most mature 15 year old guy I've ever seen. I guess that's because he's an alien, huh?
Lana looked more like she could be 15 in the first season. I think she generally looks like a little girl.

I'm thinking he has to be because he starts driving next season and then gets his license early in the next season, don't you start with a learner's permit at 16 in the US?
Plus I think Tom boy was already 20/21 (or something equally as absurd) when he started the role!
Plus doesn't he graduate series 4? So that is 18?
I get the impression the first 2 series occur in the same calendar year.
