I loved seeing all the heroes come together, but I still felt like it was a bit of an anticlimax, after the whole season led up to New York City exploding. I thought they should have at least have shown Nathan and Peter in the sky saying goodbye and then the explosion from closer up.
I love when Sylar and Peter face off, but we never get to see them really go at it. In the one from the doomed future, they started to go towards each other with fire hands and ice hands, but no big brawl. I wanted a big brawl!
I did love when Sylar threw Hiro through the air and he disappeared into thin air. It was also very cool when Nikki ran up and creamed Sylar with the parking meter, super strength style. Then Peter, said he had it, then started beating Sylar because now that he'd stood near Nikki, he had her strength.
I liked that DL is still alive. I didn't mind that Parkman died. I used to love Parkman, but we saw that he became corrupted in the future, misguided and pretty bad. With that potential in him, he didn't seem like so much of a hero anymore.
When Mr. Benet told Peter to call him "Noah", FINALLY revealing his first name, I figured he was going to die. But then when Peter went back into the past and heard his own words about how you can die gracefully and be a hero, I thought that was foreshadowing his own death.
However, I think he'll be back next year. I don't know how you could heal from exploding into a million pieces, but I think Peter will.
Seems like Nathan will probably be dead next year. It sucks, because he's a cool character. Well, now that he's heroic again he's cool. But probably dead.
Now for my nitpicks.
HELLO! Couldn't Peter fly himself into the sky? Why were the only solutions that he control the fire, or he die? Couldn't they have a syringe ready with the same kind of stuff they used to subdue Radioactive Man? Couldn't Hiro have teleported him out of the city, into the desert or the ocean?
I just kept saying at the screen, "Can't Peter just fly away himself?"
I was also bugged that Sylar had the super speed reflexes to hear a gun go off and turn and stop the bullets, but couldn't react to Hiro shouting, running towards him from the front and running him through with a sword. Ummm... inconsistent much?
But kudos to Nathan for saving the world, or at least .7% of it. I do pray that he's back next year.
Hiro in ancient Japan = AWESOME! At first I thought he was going to be the Japanese guy that is his own Hiro. Then I thought the guy in the mask looked like he could be George Takei. That would be too cool. I especially love that they are calling the next episode "Generations", like that Star Trek movie with the old and new casts.
I'm looking forward to next season! It should be good. I'm also excited to find out what all the older generation's powers are.

Awesome episode ;D
I loved how the end theme of the show was that love will save the world. I am glad that Nathan redeemed himself and flew Peter into the sky to save everyone.
I just hope that next season they don't spend a lot of time making Peter brood over and feeling guilty over Nathan's sacrifice
I believe the reason that Peter couldn't fly himself into the sky was because he was having trouble keeping himself from going nuclear that it took all his concentration and he couldn't fly without immediately exploding. and the issue wasn't Peter dying himself (we will regenerate just like Claire did when Ted exploded) it was saving the other .07% of the city.
I am glad the Nikki finally became one with Jessica and was able to help defeat Sylar and help save her family.
Since they were loading Parkman into an Ambulance at the end ...I think he will probably be back
and did anyone notice the trail of Blood from where Sylar was laying to an open manhole cover? I do not know how but I bet he escaped and will be back to terrorize next season (I hope not)
and what of the other evil person that was hinted at? the one that Molly referred to. the one where if she sees him ...he can she her? kinda creepy and fore shadowing.
Love that they gave a small preview for next season with "Generations" Hiro sure does get himself into some messes...LOL

Love that they gave a small preview for next season with "Generations" Hiro sure does get himself into some messes...LOL I didn't put that together that it was love that finally saved the world. I thought it was done really beautifully, though. Not cheesey. I mean, here Nathan was about to let everyone die and had gotten quite dark in the last couple of episodes. He would have sudden power and ultimately end up president. But was willing to sacrifice his life to save everyone, instead. That was awesome. Sylar definitely got away. That confused me, because they really made it look like he died dramatically, with all those pictures flashing in his pupils, then his eyeballs turning white as he gasped his last breath. However, the cockroach on the sewer lid cover that Sylar had clearly slid into sent us the message, "Sylar's like a cockroach. He always survives." Of course, I wish he had died. However, it gives me hope that Sylar and Peter will someday still have a knockdown, drag out fight a la Spike and Angel. OK, I remembered a couple of other nit picks that I had from last night. First, didn't that shapeshifting girl (It takes me forever to notice what characters' names are) say that she is really fat last week? But when she was knocked unconscious and turned back into her regular self, she looked like the same hot, skinny chick we keep seeing. Also, Nathan can fly as super speed, but HE DOESN'T HAVE SUPER HEARING. However, right after Claire asks if there is another way to stop Peter from killing everyone with the explosion, we see Nathan fly in from way above and behind a skyscrapre, then say that there is another way. Um ... how did he hear what Peter and and Claire were talking about in normal tones over 30 stories away? That was bugging me. I know we have to suspend disbelief for TV, especially a fantasy show like this, but it'd be nice for them to cover details like that. Also, did I miss something? How did Claire and Nathan know where to find everyone else? Sylar knew to go to the square from his vision. Peter knew from Benet (Noah, hee hee). But Claire ran away from Nathan and Mrs. Petrelli, but how did she know to go there? Just because she'd met with her dad there before? I also wanted to add that I'm so happy that Hiro saved Ando. The cutest part was when Hiro told Ando he had to leave by himself to kill Sylar. He was so serious. His voice was even deeper, like Hiro from the future. Then Ando said seriously, "Hiro?" And Hiro turned to look at Ando. Then Ando said, "You look badass!" And Hiro got that adorable Hiro look back on his face and said in his normal little voice, "Really?" then smiled his big, cute grin. LMAO. He's so cute. I just love him! He should be on cuteoverload. com! I'll definitely be rewatching this episode a few times this summer. Love that Tivo.

Hot skinny chick = Candice Wilmer Mama Petrelli's such a bitch. I think she's evil, and I think she'll be the one that 'looks back' at Molly (ok, I know, not a man, but Molly might not have seen them clearly) that or Charles Deveaux. How come he could see Peter when Mrs P, Simone and the other Peter couldn't? Me thinks he has a special power, like being omniscient or whatever. But then Simone probably should have had a power too, hmm... I wonder if Nathan's other kids will end up having powers too? I mean, I was going to go with the point here that all the superhero families we really know about have had two superpowered parents, right? Which means Simone and the Petrelli kids have no guarantee. But then again, Molly's father was killed by Sylar but Molly's mother was just stabbed against a wall, right? Indicating no power there. I guess it's just a random gene thing then as to whether the kids have powers? I really want to know Mrs Petrelli's power, but hopefully that's going to be elaborated on in Season 2, along with Mr Petrellis, Lindermans, Mr Nakamura's and hopefully Deveaux's powers too. Also, from that last hug at the end, I think for sure that Molly's going to be adopted by Niki and DL, she'd make a cool character and that's a good way to get her in the spotlight; being in a family of heroes. I thought it was a little random (but cool) when Niki just decided to walk into a random fight and beat Sylar up with the parking meter, then just leave a few seconds later. Lmao, wanted to use her new found strength again. Though I hope Jessica hasn't completely gone, that would be a big let down in Niki's story... And LMFAO, Noah Bennet. I wasn't expecting to find out his first name, thought that was cool that they left it until the last episode. As for the episode itself, I have to say that it was a little on the disappointing side. I mean, the fight wasn't as good as I thought it would be. When Peter and Sylar first confronted each other, I figured that when Hiro went to the future in ep 2 or thereabouts, the explosion is in daylight. I thought that they'd be fighting at least into midday, surely. Pretty poor battle.

When Peter and Sylar first confronted each other, I figured that when Hiro went to the future in ep 2 or thereabouts, the explosion is in daylight. I thought that they'd be fighting at least into midday, surely. Pretty poor battle. Those are are all great questions about the DNA and how powers are passed on. Linderman said that he manipulated many circumstances to bring DL and Nikki together, so they could conceive Micah. I've been wondering a bunch of things about that. Why does super strength mated with the ability to pass through physical objects add up to a kid who can control machines and computers? By the same token, why does a dad who can fly and a mom who can create fire add up to a daughter who can heal herself? Is it just random? Linderman was suggesting that he wanted Micah's powers, so he brought Nikki and DL together. I wonder if they will pursue the equation that makes specific powers, or just never deal how that doesn't add up. My own theory is that Linderman is somehow Claire's real dad or her grandfather (Nathan's dad?), so it is his ability to heal others that contributed to her ability to heal herself. They could also do a twist and bring LInderman back next season. He may also be able to heal himself, but they just haven't told us that yet. Rick, you make excellent points about Molly's family not appearing to have powers. It's also possible that one or both parents had powers, but they weren't on the list, so Sylar didn't kill them. I assumed that the guy more evil than Sylar who can look back at Molly when she thinks of him is someone we've never met before. I think they're just introducing a more sinister big bad for next season. This show loves to foreshadow villians long before we get to see them. We didn't see Sylar's face for quite awhile. And we heard about Linderman from the beginning, but didn't actually meet him until just recently. They build up the power of the villians by talking about them for awhile. But more evil than SYLAR?!?! Damn! That's some serious evil we're talking about. I'm really impressed with what a great actor Zachary Quinto is. If you see him interviewed, he's just a regular young American dude. But he puts on menacing psychopath so convincingly. About Nikki, I don't think that Jessica is gone. I think that Nikki is just realizing that she has the strength, too. We already saw that when she was in prison and she broke the bully club in half. I think the thing I'm the most curious about is if Jessica is an alterante personality, or Nikki's twin's soul actually entered Nikki's body when Jessica died? It seems like Nikki would be wondering that herself.

But Sylar did kill them both In episode 2, when we are first introduced to the character of Matt Parkman. He killed the father and took his brain, and killed the mother but did not take her brain, implying she did not have a power but he did. So Molly is practically the only example of someone with superpowers on the show who only has one superpowered parent, and the other regular. (Though I believe the official web comics elaborate on Eden's story, and her parents. There might be something there too, but I can't remember.) Molly's dad: Molly's mum (Not the clearest, but her skull is still there)

Oh sorry, I mean to say that he didn't take their brains. I remembered that he killed them, but not the way he kills people with powers. Goes to show that I often make mistakes since I tend to type and watch TV at the same time. I'm not as good a multitasker as I'd like to think. ;D

Maria, this is so freaky...I was working everything I have to say about the episode, in my mind, before I opened this thread...then I read your post and you totally got 95% of what I was about to say! (the 5% would be the next big bad and you brought that up in another post!). Anyhow, I liked how they finished this season with beginning of the next - very much Alias style. And I can't wait to get the DVDs (which by the way got cheaper on Amazon US - $38.99) to re-watch the entire season with all the commentaries! ;D

I'm just a long-winded girl. I didn't know that Alias used that same technique of showing a scene from the next season. That's a cool thing to do. I also like how they show the end of the last week's episode at the beginning each episode to make the action continuous. The DVDs will be out soon? Commentary will be so fun to see. I hope there are lots of interviews with Zachary Quinto and Masi Oka. Milo would also be interesting, but not as interesting as them. I think it's so cool that Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli) is married to Natalie Maines, the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks.

What can I say when you guys hit the nail in the head regarding last night's episoide. Bring on Chapter 2 cause this show so rocks!!! Since Nathan was the hero here is a treat from his early role as a youngster!! Enjoy!! I know you guys like vampires...cough-cough Buffy....you should check out a young Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) in1987 cult vampire movie Near Dark (1987), with Pasdar in the lead role of Caleb Colton. It was pretty good and Nate did a good job as the lead

I think it's so cool that Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli) is married to Natalie Maines, the lead singer of the Dixie Chicks. Not sure about the interviews but there are plenty of awesome features: - Unaired Pilot: The Tim Kring Cut with Audio Commentary - A full 73 uninterrupted minutes of the original, unaired, extended pilot episode, as Heroes' creator Tim Kring first envisioned it, with a character never seen.
- The Making of Heroes - From concept to pop culture phenomenon, a behind-the-scenes look at the hottest new series on television
- Special Effects - The secrets behind the eye-popping visuals that give the Heroes their amazing powers.
- The Stunts - A back stage look at the show's hair-raising stunts.
- Mind Reader - Matt Parkman's mind reading abilities reveal your inner Hero with a series of simple tests.
- Profile of Artist Tim Sale - A look at the Eisner Award-winning comic book artist (Spiderman, Batman, Daredevil) behind much of the Manga-influenced artwork used in the show.
- The Score - Go behind the scenes with Wendy Melvin and Lisa Coleman (of Prince's The Revolution) as they create their ASCAP Award-winning musical score.
- 50 Deleted and Extended Scenes.
According to TVShowsOnDVD.com. And it's supposed to be released August 28th. ;D If anybody interested you can preorder a copy on Amazon.com for $38.99.
