On April 18, 2007, MGM announced that they are developing an ambitious slate of direct-to-DVD movies and sequels. Mentioned among them is a brand new film based on Dead Like Me. The article mentions that the film will be written by Dead Like Me writer and producer Stephen Godchaux and will be directed by Stephen Herek.[8] Ellen Muth has posted a blog entry on her MySpace page which suggests that, depending on the success of the DVD movie, the series might go back into production with a new concept.[9]
Also, a casting breakdown and a synopsis for the film were both recently posted on an acting audition website; included in said breakdown was the new information that John Masius wrote the film and that, as expected, Mandy Patinkin and Laura Harris will not be in the film, as both actors already have commitments to different television series (Patinkin plays the lead role on the highly successful crime drama Criminal Minds on CBS; Harris is a cast member on Women's Murder Club, which debuts this fall on ABC.). [1]
Plot: "When Calvin Kane, a slick businessman who couldn't care less about helping the newly dead, takes over Rube's Head Reaper duties, all hell breaks loose, bringing out the worst in Daisy, Roxy, and Mason. George, however, is determined to set her latest, botched reap right, especially because the boy who was supposed to die, Hudson Hart, is her little sister Reggie's secret boyfriend. In the process, George and Reggie re-connect for real, for the first time."

Great news! I love DLM and I really want more more more!
Sucks about Rube not being in it, though I hope we get a cameo of him at least taking his last soul, something... I also really hope Daisy is in it, cause I like her, though Betty would be better.
