Holy smokey craziness!
OK, everyone guessed Nathan was the dad, since no one else dresses in suits on the show, except for Claire's adopted dad.
I wish we'd seen more of Claire's conversation with her mom.
Sylar out is freaking me out quite a bit. He certainly plays the psychopathic killer well.
I thought Mr. Bennet did a great job with his cene of helplessness. He's always so in control that it was fascinating to see him out of control. But he took it back quite fast.
They let Jessica/Nikki out of prison! And poor Nikki. She's trapped in psychopathic girl now. The thing I really don't get is that Jessica's plan was to plead insanity and convince the psychiatrist that she had split personailities, but the minute Jessica came out, she killed the lady. Didn't see like a good way to get the woman's help.
It lookslike the cop will die next week, from what the previews showed. I'm sad about that, because I really liked him. I thought it was too bad that they hadn't explored his story more, because I loved him in the beginning.

Just a quick note. The license plate on Hiro's dad's car was NCC 1701. I got a chuckle out of that.

This episode was awesome!!! Nathan has a lovechild..... Clare's mom is so cool!!! Peter is an empath....I like that he can use his powers whenever he wants by concentrating on the person he came in contact with....very cool!!! The Invisible man is great!!!! Alot of new things to explore were revealed and I freaking love it!!! I looked up Empathy and got this: Empathy (from the Greek , "to suffer with") is commonly defined as one's ability to recognize, perceive and directly experientially feel the emotion of another. As the states of mind, beliefs, and desires of others are intertwined with their emotions, one with empathy for another may often be able to more effectively define another's modes of thought and mood. Empathy is often characterized as the ability to "put oneself into another's shoes", or experiencing the outlook or emotions of another being within oneself, a sort of emotional resonance........Awesome!!!! This certainly explains alot about Peter's ability.... This is how he channels the others powers. Alot of the heroes powers are related to their emotions and brain activity. That why Sylar dissects their brains to get their abilities

What's cool is that they set Peter up as emotionally empathetic towards others from the very first episode. He was the one who was understanding towards his mother shoplifting. He clearly had an emotional connection with her. He was a nurse. He was emotionally connected to his patient, the old man who was dying.
His ability reflects his emotional nature.
And Nathan's ability to fly high is sort of a reflection of how he is soaring to the heights of power with his political career.
Has anyone else thought about how cool it would be to have one of these "heroes" as president of the U.S.? Nathan too paternalistic for my taste, but it'd still be cool to have him be president.
I was also thinking that maybe Claire actually did die in that fire. Maybe she was a toddler burned to a crisp, but she regenerated, like she did on the autopsy table after that football player attacked her.

His ability reflects his emotional nature. That's brillant. I never even thought about that. Niki- the loving mom and the internet stripper Claude- the man happy on the outskirts of society Matt-the failed dective/investigator Isaac-the recovered junky Hiro-a hero stuck out of place and time An interesting question would be, what kind of power would you manifest?

Great insights, Gerry! I especially love your description of Hiro. It's true that he doesn't fit into his own time, with his obsession with his destiny and saving others.
I think Claude could also be described as invisible to society.
And Isaac has artistic "vision", but could only access it when he was high, which is such a stereotype for artists.
Great points, Gerry!

Finally got to watch this episode and WOW...after two "static" episodes, we finally have progress. I think they are setting up Peter to face Sylar. They both have abilities to "take" other peoples powers, but unlike Sylar, Peter don't have to kill them, he have to "feel" them. So far, Peter is the only one who can stop Sylar. I was kind of disappointed with Hiro's part in this episode, I was hoping for some kind of conspiracy about his father and his destiny and ended up having something not quite as exciting. Clair and her biologic mother meeting was very cool. I hope they would make it even more exciting now that we know Nathan is the father (by the way, good guess Maria - from the other thread ). I was hoping the Psychologist would help Nikki overcome Jessica and find a "middle" - something like Jessica's strength and Nikki's personality, but I guess we have a long way ahead.

Yes, it's such a tragic road for Nikki. I'm most worried about her husband. They haven't shown how Jessica dealt with him when she came home.
I'm just so curious about whether Jessica is Nikki's twin's ghost possessing her, or a split off personality.
Nathan was the most obvious one to be the father, but the preview made his shirt look pink. That threw me off, because I didn't think that Nathan would wear a pink shirt. However, his shirt was actually blue in the episode. I think they messed with the image in the preview a little bit, plus they slowed it down, so the shadow between his arm and chest looked like a holster or something.
This show is so addictive that in a way, I wish I had discovered it later, so I could see all the episodes on DVD back to back. That'd be an awesome way to watch them.
I'm just so impatient.

Wow, Great Heroes Chat! Maria, that was so well said about Peter. He is definately my favorite Hero right now. I'm always wondering what is going to happen next with him.
I was hoping Nathan was not the daddy. I wish he could just keep it in his pants. I really thought there was some chemistry between Peter and Claire but now that's completely shot. Here is hoping that Claire's Mom aka Gina(Nip/Tuck) are more alike and Nathan might not be the daddy.
Also some great Highlights from last Show. Sylar was amazing. Great acting! I also love the part when Ms. Bennet was going to say Mr. Bennet's first name but she got distracted by the dog. That was so funny because we still don't know it.
And Dr. Who/Invisible Man was hilarious when he called Peter a child and that explained why he was like a bleeding heart and walking around with his hair in his face. OOo.. and throwing him off the roof! Great writing! I'm always entertained with Heroes!

I have to say Sylar really creeps me out! Peter's fall of the building was totally wicked and un expected. That scene made me jump

Here is hoping that Claire's Mom aka Gina(Nip/Tuck) are more alike and Nathan might not be the daddy. I KNOW, Peter and Claire DID have chemistry! Now that's seeming pretty creepy. I'm sure the actors didn't know they'd be uncle and niece when that was shot. This is seems like one of those shows where the actors only find things out as each script arrives. I also thought that was funny about Mrs. Bennet not quite getting her husband's name out. Even though we know his last name is Bennet, a lot of people online still refer to him as Horn-Rimmed Glasses, or HRG for short. Man, the previews NBC keeps showing really suggest that Matt is going to die this week. That's so sad, because he is so likable.

Yep, I just saw the preview. They always have catchy slogans. "Someone Flies" "Someone Dies"
It did look like it was Matt that kicks it but lots of times they give us the unexpected. I can't think of anyone else that should go though. Matt is a sweety. I love his character but out of all the other heroes he is the least connected to everybody.
Did ya see the part with Peter using his powers on Isaac??!! He was really pissed off, maybe because of Isaac and Simone and he was yelling "Don't Lie to me!" Then it looked like he used his mind to push him. A Sylar power?? I hope sweet Peter doesn't turn into a Villain.

No, I didn't see that preview, Shondra. It sounds interesting.
I hadn't thought about what you said before, but since Peter was near Sylar, does that mean that he has every power that Sylar has inside him that he can learn to access?
Now THAT would be awesome. Peter will be the ultimate Hero. He's a combination of Sylar and all the other heroes. Then they can kill off any hero that they want, because Peter will have their power.

does that mean that he has every power that Sylar has inside him that he can learn to access? Yeah, I think that's why Peter got so sick after his meeting with Sylar and we've notice that he now gets premonitions which seem different from Isaac's "painting the future" power. That power might be from Sylar too. I also wonder if that scene when Peter was in his holding cell and had a little vision of Sylar saying "You dont' know what real power is" was part of a premonitions of a future fight. That would be really cool.

Oh wow, Shondra, I hadn't thought of that. Man, I should watch these episodes more than once. You pick up on so much. I love your insights!
