The first series that started the whole trend of animated style cartoons was Batman: The Animated Series. From there, we were give Superman: The Animated Series, Batman/Superman, Justice League Unlimited. One of my favorite eps was from Batman and the Grey Ghost, who was Bruce Wayne's childhood film hero.
I think this design by Bruce Timm has a real impact on the world of cartoons plus they gave us some great toys!
Any other fans out there?

I am a fan too.
Justice League, TNBA, Teen Titans, etc. DC cartoons always seemed better than the Marvel counterparts to me. There are tons of DC cartoons. I don't watch them all, but some.
So far, from what I can tell, these are the current DC cartoons in existence: (I've only watched the JL, JLU, TT, BTAS, B&R, TNBA and BOTF ones, as well as the Gotham Girls online one)
Justice League Justice League Unlimited Batman: The Animated Series The Adventures of Batman and Robin The New Batman Adventures The Batman Superman Teen Titans Batman of the Future/Batman Beyond The Zeta Project Static Shock
And the online series: Gotham Girls Lobo
There maybe some more that I've missed too. Was/Is there a Legion of Superheroes?

Oh yeah! You're right! Legion of Superheroes is pretty cute since it stars a real young Superman.
I like the current The Batman and love the Batgirl. She's a great comic relief without being stupid. She's got those quick quips and I love how she makes Batman feel guilty about him being so secretive with her.

Was Batman The Animated Series where they did all the animation on a black background rather than a white background?

Was Batman The Animated Series where they did all the animation on a black background rather than a white background? Good memory! My brother found an animation cell kit for me when I was painted cells a while back and there was a blurb about that in the How To booklet.

I love these cartoons and have to watch them when ever I catch them. I enjoy every minute, the animation and story lines for the episodes are amazing.

I bet some charity auction gift cards w/ a friend on the superbowl (and won) and used that to pre-order the last Timmverse DCAU set that I plan to buy. I used to record BTAS/STAS/TNBA back in college, and was really excited to collect them all on dvd, now I've got BTAS 1-4 (w/ B&R, and TNBA under the same moniker), STAS 1-3, BB 1 &2 w/ 3 on the way, JL 1&2, and and JLU 1 w/ 2 on the way. I''ve been displaying them throughout my action figure collection by show (my DCAU collection outnumbers my Buffyverse collection considerably actually.)
Very excited/sad. I've been trying to track down the things I didn't get a chance to see, like the crossover eps w/ Static Shock (B&R, BB, Superman, JL, and GL), the BB crossover ep w/ Zeta, and the webisodes of GG and Lobo. I'd love to see them (especially collected would be cool, some sort of DCAU Apocrypha DVD...) If anyone has them, I'd love to bribe you to share them w/ me.
Anyway, this was my first and primary geekdom for years and its only gotten stronger this past year, as I've re-watched all of the dvds and gotten back into collecting the figures.

I tried TT, LosH, and The Batman, but while the artwork was tremendous (on the bat anyway) the stories didn't hit that blend of "for kids-or-adults" that was established so well in BTAS.
Bruce Timm cites Joss Whedon as his inspiration for the episode where WW is turned into a pig btw. In the commentary he says he'd been watching a ton of Buffy, and loved the turn-everything-on-its-headness of Joss's writing.

At first I wasn't a big fan of this style of animation. Then one weekend the Boomerang cable network ran a Superman marathon; I watched them all and was hooked. I thought that the stories were well written and voice characterizations were not only fun amazing. Now I watch all of the various series when I notice that they are on

I grew up watching Batman the Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures. I always disliked Superman so I never did watch it, just Batman!
Here is what I've watched: Batman: The Animated Series The Adventures of Batman and Robin The New Batman Adventures Justice League Justice League Unlimited The Batman Teen Titans Gotham Girls (this on DVD would be so cool)
I own vol. 2 of BTAS, all of Justice League, season 1 of JLU, season 1-2 of both The Batman and Teen Titans.
At the moment I really like The Batman. Batgirl was done alot better in this series then TNBA. I like the new style to the show and the overall darkness to some of it. Not a fan of Robin, but I enjoyed the latest "Artifacts" episode with Nightwing and Oracle.

My favourite is definately teen titans. I love that show....although some of the episodes can be very juvenile and kiddy a lot of the other episode are great.
The whole terra arc in season was fun and i LOVED season 4 with Ravens arc...its was really cool with Trigon basically destroying earth in the finale....and in the season 4 episode 'birthmark' when Ravens fate was revealed and her hair grew out and her clothes were ribbed to rags and she was covered in the glowing red marks....major cool.
