At first I thought this show was kind of boring, but it's been getting funnier and funnier every week.
Jane Krakowski plays the shallow, dumb blonde so well. I loved her on Ally McBeal, and she's great on this show, too.
Tina Fey says that they try to make the humor as dense as on the Simpsons, so there's tons of funny stuff packed into every moment.
But Alec Baldwin with this shallow, controlling, but ever-so-wise head of TV programming and microwave ovens for GE is classic. That guy has amazing comic abilities. I don't want to like him because of his rage problems, but he's just so hilarious!
This week's episode about Jane Krakowski's character getting misquoted about hating the troupes, when she really said she hated "theatre troups" because "they think they're work is SO important", well it was crazy!
Then Tina Fey coached Jane's character to go on Hardball and say that she supports Barack Obama in 2008 and thinks that Bush shouldn't have gone into Iraq, but should have spent the money going after Osama bin Laden. It came out of idiot Jane's mouth on Hardball as:
"If the president is so serious about the war on terror, why doesn't he hunt down and capture Barack Obama before he strikes again? It's time for a change, America. That's why I'm voting for Osama in 2008. Oh, no comeback? YA BURNT!"
LMFAO!!!!!
Then later at the end of a scene, Alec Baldwin looks at Tina's computer and says, "Do you ever get any emails other than from Match.com?"
The final negotiations meeting was awesome.
Actor's agent: I need this money. I have a really bad sex addiction.
Alec, putting his hand on the agent's shoulder: Sorry
Tina: That's it? I thought you said we could crush him.
Alec: What are you talking about? I took away everything. That's crushing.
Tina: No, do more stuff! *To the actor* You made me look like an idiot. You have to pay!
Alec: Liz, he's not getting a raise.
Tina: Do the worm. Do the worm!
*guy gets on the floor and does the worm*
Alec: Good Lord! The worm. That's so degrading! Are it's origins German?
Tina: Now name five reasons I'm better than you.
Actor: You're smarter than me.
Tina: One!
Actor: You beat me at arm wrestling.
Tina: Two!
Actor: You read the paper.
Tina: Yea, suck it. I DO read the paper.
Agent: You want me to do anything?
Tina: Be a crab! Fight the worm!
*agent gets down and walks like a crab*
Alec: Liz, you took to this like a natural, more than I ever -- Ok the crab is getting aroused. Shut it down. Shut it down.
Good writing. This is one funny show. It's come so far from the first very boring episodes.
