I have been looking at buying some DVDs, partially as I saw Lior's R4 Book of Shadows Charmed set.
Question: Europe and England is Region 2.
Australia is Region 4.
But is Region 2 and Region 4 the same? I have seen a few eBay seller listing DVDs as Region 2/4 and saying that Region 4 discs are playable over here in England without a multi-region player.
But I have also seen some sellers say that to play Region 4 you need a multi-region DVD player, so what gives?
Thanks in advance!

I was looking at Lior's Charmed set too. I always thought that region 4 needed a a multi region DVD player. I have one but its in the bedroom and I dont want to be restricted to watching certain DVD's in there

As far as I know, both Reg 2 and 4 are PAL; what means they would play on any PAL DVD player. Just in case I can ask Wayne since he got the same BOS DVDs but kept the discs that came with the book.

As far as I know, the regions are for copyright protection laws and not formats.
