One of our members is a new mommy!!! My good friend ajmets had this little bundle of joy!!! Im so happy for her!!!! Here is her message: Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted though I've been checking in every once in a while. I don't know if you recall but I was pregnant with my first child and he was due January 25th. Well......Logan James finally arrived on February 2nd. The little bugger made me wait an extra 8 days to meet him. He was 7 lbs 13 oz and 21" long. Perfectly healthy and his daddy and I are madly in love with him. Here are some pictures.
Kal-El, I posted one picture just for you. I'm sure you can guess which one.

I must admit though that most of the time he's sleeping and I'm just staring at him. lol. I can't tear my eyes away from him. He already has his first set of action figures. The set of Where the Wild Things Are from McFarlane. That's his nursery theme. Jim also bought him some superhero costumes already. I just wish mommy could watch all her Tivo'd programs. I'm behind on Smallville and a few others.

it sure is time consuming! and the house always seems to be a mess, baby stuff everywhere! how cute that he already has a set of action figures! Drew had his football strip as soon as he was born, and i love putting him in costumes. He was a pumpkin at halloween, and superbaby for a christmas party. The only thing that I still find hard is getting time to watch my tv programmes, i have to record everything! I am only on the pc when hes asleep or my hubby is playing with him. If you want to chat or need someone to talk to then just pm or email me and we can arrange to talk through msn chat thingy. I never knew how much hard work they can be!

Thanx Shep, I might take you up on that offer. Starting tomorrow my life is going to be even more hectic because I agreed to work from home for my company while I'm on maternity leave. Today is my first day alone with Logan, Jim went back to work and I finally just got him to go down for a nap and I have to wake him up in an hour for his 4pm bottle. What did I get myself into agreeing to work? I guess I'll have to find the time because I can't let them down. It's helping me as much as it's helping them. I'll have some extra money coming in to make up for the pay cut (disability/maternity leave only pays 60% of your salary). Ugh, I have a feeling by the end of day tomorrow I'm going to be quite frazzled.

Its really hard when your man goes to work but Im sure you will be ok. Just let him take over when he comes home so you can have a relaxing bath, a bit of time for yourself like catching up on Smallville episodes! I always let Andrew bath Drew so I could have some time for me. Im sure you have plenty of support from family, so when they ask to babysit take them up on their offer, you and Jim can have some quality time together. Perhaps you wont want to leave him just yet but in a couple of months I am sure you will feel ready to.
Drew used to feed every 3 hours until he was 3 months old it was so time consuming. Once he was fed then he would be winded, then bum changed and then it was time to do it all over again. I must admit I never woke him up to feed, I just thought he would wake when his little tummy began to grumble. My mother in law says when they are asleep they are growing!
To be honest I think it was quite naughty that work asked you to help them out. I understand that the money helps although I dont know how you are going to find the time to work. I never found the time to eat or go to the toilet - i really admire you.
Let me know how you are getting on. I dont mean to be bossy or to preach I just thought I would tell you what I found best/what helped me. The thing with having a baby is that you learn as you go along!
ali x
