CineQuest has reported this on one of their current e-mail notifications:
INKWORKS FAREWELL: We were very unhappy to hear that our favorite card maker, Inkworks, has closed its doors. We’ve known and admired Allan Caplan since before we started CineQuest.com. And we were always treated well by a company that made some of the best card sets ever and one that was a constant cheerleader for the non-sports world. While we are bummed that we won’t be seeing Ghost Whisperer or ongoing season sets for Smallville or Supernatural from the company.

Even though I have never collected the Inkworks cards I really feel for those that do. It is a shame when a company that specializes in a fan line driven collectibles has to shut it's doors. Unfortunately it seems to be the sign of the times and and the results of a poor economy. I just hope that things turn around before we loose more companies that produce the licence merchandise that we all love to collect.

It was not much of a shock, I certainly saw it coming. And given their recent stunts with the card sets, they had it coming really.
