Hey everyone
Tis the season where I am catching up on a few commissions
Here is another drawing that I have recently finished
This drawing is a little different than the Celebrities that you usually see me draw..
Normally I shy away from doing major vintage iconic stars such as Elvis Presley, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe etc... Mainly because these properties are heavily copyrighted but mostly because the market is overly saturated with their images...you find them all over just about everything and I personally feel that drawing them would be redundant...after all what could I add in my interpretation that hasn't already been done many; many; many times already.
This drawing was commissioned by a very dear friend and co-worker and since I do not plan to make any prints of this drawing I decided to make an exception...
This drawing features portraits of 50's Icon and heart-Throb James Dean as he appeared as "Jett Rink" in the movie "Giant"
To maintain the Vintage "feel" I chose to do the drawing in Black & White (Even though the movie "Giant" was filmed in Technicolor) I think it adds interest to the composition
As always I appreciate constructive comments and feedback so please let me know what you think ;D
This drawing was done as Fan Art
My Tribute to a Classic Motion Picture and to the memory of Actor James Dean.
Giant, Jett Rink and all related characters and properties are copyrighted by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and their respective subsidiaries
The image of James Dean is copyrighted by the Estate of James Dean and their respective subsidiaries
I Claim no Ownership to either properties!
