I love this guy. I Tivo it every night and start my morning watching it.
On Monday night Craig used his monologue to talk about the moral dilemna he feels being a comedian. He said he was at a party not too long ago and ran into Kevin Costner. He said that he had made some mean jokes about Kevin not toolong before. He could see it in Kevin's eyes that he was upset about the jokes, but Craig watched Kevin make a decision not to mention the issue and be friendly anyway. Kevin was there with his wife and kids.
Craig said his job of insulting people has been getting to him ever since then. He said that watching Britney Spears gong through her behavior reminds him of where he was 16 years ago right before he finally got sober himself. He was quite careful to not say that Britney was an alcoholic or addict. But he emphasized that the behavior was similar to his behavior when he was actively drinking and out of control.
His monologue was very heartfelt and touching. He said that he wasn't going to make any more Britney Spears jokes and just stick to jokes about Donald Trump and other obnoxious blowhards like that.
I thought it was pretty interesting. I really like Craig Ferguson. He's adorable and very funny. It's nice to see someone in Hollywood who seems to genuinely have some values and integrity, as well.
