SPOILER ALERT - do not read if you have not watched the finale!
Okay, so loyal CSI viewer here, even through the dodgy plot lines: pseudo alien abductions, the lab guy's board game (his name annoyingly escapes me), et al....
I rejoicing at Sara leaving as I loathed her character and putting her with Gil was annoying, to hear she is coming back, makes me really want to switch off.
But the finale.....
Killing off Warrick? WTF? The most interesting, best looking and well acted character?
So, Gary Dourdan got caught and arrested on drugs possession, hasn't hurt other star's careers, but his contract running out on a pay deal negotiation? WHAT! I'm sorry the studio make more than enough off of this show they couldn't reach an agreement.
I will even give you an out, are you listening Writing Department? Nick gets the brush off from red head waitress, comes out of the dinner, sees Warrick's car, goes over, sees him shot, calls 911 and attends to his injuries in the meantime, paramedics arrive just in time, and Grissom and co, go gunning for the Under Sheriff. Sara returns, the Under Sheriff takes her hostage and kills her! ;D (Insert evil grin here). Two birds, 1 stone and we get to keep Warrick.
I reach a time where I will be saying Bye Bye to CSI!
As a sidebar, you know a show is in trouble when they revamp the music (CSI:NY: What did they do to Baba O'Reilly? Talk about sacrilege!), and boy is CSI:NY suffering.... We all know ABC turned down the CSI franchise as the average American is too dumb (so what are studio bosses?) to follow the show (good call guys!), but to think the viewer is falling for some of the tosh that show is putting out really is insulting! Want to make headway there, kill of Lyndsey, the single most annoying character in TV history, brought to make up the numbers and for no other reason. She even gives Sara Sidle a run for her money.
CSI: Miami, where to go with this one? When the acting industry openly call you a joke, come on pull the plug! We get it, David Caruso (manly man H ) cares and good guys wear black, but come on, dodgy one liners, dodgy acting and the crouching/sunglasses move (and he hasn't even improved from NYPD: Blue)! For me, David Caruso's best role of his life was as KitKat in Hudson Hawk.
The CSI franchise needs a serious overall, either that pull the plug. But this viewer is out of here and I daresay a few more will follow. Money is not everything, scripts count!
