I like myspace bulletins because they let me know what my friends are up to. what I do find very annoying is bulletin spam. Bulletin spam (for me) is when someone tries to promote someone elses page by sending countless bulletins over and over that say "Add This person" or "Add this site" many times I have logged on to myspace and have seen about 5 to 10 different bulletins from the same person (all in a row) saying add this or that...it is just plain annoying, if I wanted to add those people I would seek them out, I do not need someone spamming me on their behalf. I ususlly end up deleting friends that send too much of this kind of Bulletin spam. I mean once is fine but really! over and over on a daily basis? I want to hear what my friends are doing; what projects they are in to, something that they have to say or just someting funny they wish to share...and too much spam pushes all of these cool bulletins down on to the lower pages and makes them difficult to find and read. many of my other friends feel the same way. Sorry for the rant what things about myspace bother you?

The things that bug me are the coments that want you to do quizzes, like "are you like me?" That's why I have my profile set so that I have to approve my comments before they are posted. I also don't like the bulletins that say forward this so many times or something bad will happen to you.

Hackers and phishers! Sorry Scotty I do sometimes post bulletins saying add this site or that one. I only do it if they are good pages/nice people I hate hackers and Phishers also...they are so annoying Ali it is no problem at all and there is no need to apologize...actually it is my own personal little pet peeve that I myself have to deal with...a quirk if you will... though it is annoying (to me) I have learned to get over myself real quick and basically ignore it all. It is a very diverse world and I have learned that you have to accept stuff that annoy you from time. so no worries ;D

I do put "add" in the headline so people know what its actually about. I only recommend friends who are interested in the same things as me/fanpages related to tv programmes etc...

Well the newest thing to hit myspace that totally annoys me is the barrage of folks that send you messages that say " I've just bought you as my pet...click here to see how much you are worth" (there are several versions floating around but that one is the most common)...first off don't these fools know that this is possibly a Phishing scam and second the whole idea is Ludicrous and fills your comment space with junk and sets you up for the possibility of being hacked. The first message like this gets ignored... If I get more than one of these messages (from any one person); that person is destined to be deleted the other thing that annoys me is the barrage of cyber tramps that send you messages and friend requests that are thinly veiled links to porn sites... Like Max mentioned Thank goodness for the spam settings ;D

Do you think the pet application is a phishing scam? I do have that application on my fanpage. RE: my fanpage for my GND Forum. I am fed up of people thinking I am the Girls! Also on my personal page (which you now have to know my surname to request my friendship) I used to get pervs messaging me etc.... UGGGH!!!!!!!!!

Do you think the pet application is a phishing scam? I do have that application on my fanpage. Ali There seem to be several versions of the pet application going around, some of which are proven to be phishing scams. I have had at least 2 friends get their entire page wiped clean because of the "Pet game" one even got his computer completely compromised. Any time a game or any link asks you to add the application (in order to see it or use it) is a golden opportunity to invite phishers into your computer not to mention worms, viruses and Trojan horses...and the sad thing is usually you never know that you are being phished. The best rule to follow is ...if you are not sure were the link or application is from (especially on places like Myspace) DO NOT under any circumstances add or click on or open the link. Even if the message is from a trusted friend ...beware because your friend may not know that they are spreading the phishing scam. If you do have this application on your page or pages I would highly recommend you delete the application and then run a virus scan on your computer...just to be safe. I would also delete any comments or messages that contain the application...for instance one of the messages has a little piggy bank as part of the message and another has a hand that is flipping a wad of cash....be safe Delete or best yet, do not accept these kinds of comments or messages

I agree about the creepy friend requests and messages. I had to make my profile priate and require someone know my last name, too. I don't like that as much. I'd rather have a public profile, but there are too many creeps out there. It also kind of grosses me out that these creepy guys could look at my photos etc.
But that's the nature of the internet, I guess.
I have never had people push me to add someone in a bulletin. But if someone did that a lot, I would delete them as a friend. It would fill up the whole bulletin at a glance section at my homepage and that would be really annoying.
