Right I have a spare few hours so lets get started. ;D
Madvicks:
1. Why go to Kent Uni?Well Kent was just one of those choices I kinda stumbled upon. I went through the arduous task of collecting prospectus' and looking online for uni's etc. I cant remember the exact reason why I ended up going for an open day there as those few months just all blend together but when I got there I loved it. The campus was nice, not too small but not too big and the campus is all on this big hill so when you stroll across the main campus you have a stunning view of the canterbury city below. And thats another reason, canterbury is where the campus is situated and its a typical old quaint english town. I loved it.
2. What exactly draws you to film directing or writing screenplays?Well originally I was looking to be an author. I remember being younger and for some reason ( this is around the age of like 6/7) Id get my old fairy tale books and copy the stories out and draw pictures for them. Totally pointless exercise but I liked pretenind Id written all these books and stuff. Completely lame I know. And ever since then Iv been a big fan of creative writing. And with the directing and film making, that was just somethng that gradually came to me as i grew up. I always knew i wanted something involved with english but the whole prospect of making films or being involved somehow just kinda came out of no where i cant really explain it. just my huge passion for watching films and constant cinema visits and an OCD of buying dvds. I cant help myself. my dad has slight OCD and collects papers and chops em up and cant throw em away...random I know and I think Im developing it with dvds...but ah well...cant be too bad. It is dvds after all. When I had a job at debahams i used to go out on my breka and go to the dvd shop and just buy dvds with my wages I couldnt help myself.
Anyways sorry for the boring long answers, ill try to cut em back now.
3. Favourite Stephen King book so far? Why?Damn this is a hard one...I would say...The Tommyknockers and Bag of Bones. the obvious choices people go for such as the shining etc, although i LOVE that book I read it at the age of like 12 which is too young to fully understand all the things going on in the book. I should re-read it. Oh and i love desperation just for the fact it was so fast paced and didnt have a boring patch like a lot of his books.
4. What's your favorite collectible?I have another wierd random answer for this...I dont really collect things anymore other than dvds. I had a brief stint with the Lost figures but Im over that now and will probs sell. The main 'collectable' I have that I love and will def' be taking to uni is a wooden buddha statue! haha. I got it for my 18th birthday from a friend. I think it came about on some drunken night where people were chanting buddha for some reason and we adopted it and formed the drunken buddha club as a joke. And my friend emma bought all of us a wooden buddha statue. Everytime you look at it you cant help but smile cos its so cute. ill take a pic at some point and post.lol. J'adore him and his lil chubby cheeks.
5. Favorite Buffy episode?Chosen. not original choice but who cares, I just thought the special effects and script etc were all top notch. My other 2 favs would be prophecy girl and gingerbread.
6. Favorite Angel episode?Shells: Illyria. Rocks.
7. What show would you love to guest star in and in what capacity? Why? Ermmm...Id love to have guest starred on Friends just to meet em all. Looks so fun after watching the outtakes on the dvds and seeing how htye all mess around and interaction with the audience etc. Just a one episode part...love interest of Monicas.
( when she didnt get all scarily skinny like in seasons 6/7/8/9.
cheers vicks.
SHEPHave you watched Twin Town yet?I watched the first half and had to stop it, and then my mum deleted it from sky plus! GRRR!! What I did see was hilarious! I have family and friends who live in Bridgend and although it was filmed in swansea it reminds me so much of when I was younger and would be dragged down to bridgend for family gathering. The film is so accurate with the typical welsh behaviour and accents etc. Places like cardiff where i am arent like it but the valleys etc are just like it. Just simple lines such as 'bryn was off getting me some hob knobs' etc are classic in the heavy welsh accent. Cheers for telling me about it! My uncle from bridgend is VERY welsh. So much so I cant understand some of the stuff he says as his accent is so heavy. And he loves the film! hah.
Anybody you know going to Kent University?Nope...all on me lonesome. But I dont really have a problem with making new friends etc. For the past few years due to 6th form Iv really built up my confidence. from being the shy kid no one knew in lower years to being someone most people knew by the end of the year. I won the award for...well I guess this isnt a great award to get but...Funnest drunk...apparently. Guess it shows everyone knew who I was by the end of school.lol.
What you doing with your time before you go to Kent?Well I have about 4 days left now. so its been party heavy for the past few days. i have such a tight group of friends we are gonna miss each other a LOT.
Will you be taking your computer so you can still visit the Forum?I bought a new lush laptop so I will be transporting that over with me. The dorms have internet access for free so I wont disappear. Cant get rid of me that easily. although I will be stopping customizing which is a shame.
Which famous person do people say you look like/remind them of?Hmm I dunno...Iv been told i look like elijah wood before. I dont really know anyone else who I look like or act like.
Do you have any brothers or sisters?2 sisters. Older one is 21 now and living in Croydon, surrey. My original home town before i moved at age approx 7/8. She is only about 40 mins on a train away from Kent so I can go visit etc. And my younger sister just started high school. age 11. Its quite funny cos my sister finished uni/ I finished high school/ my other sister finished primary school all in the same year!
What is your fave horror film?Def Texas chainsaw Massacre, followed by Hills have eyes.
Do you drive? No. I left it too late and started lessons earlier this year but all things got in the way...the main thing tht got in the way was that I SUCKED! haha. I blame the instructor...
Fave alchoholic drink?well well well...I dont have a clue. Down the pub I live off Strongbow cider, but I discovered Mojitoes in Dominican republic and loved those. oh and Corona...in mine and my friends words corona is gods golden pee pee.
cheers shep
LIOR1. Which Tomb Raider is your favorite and why?Tomb Raider 2 was genius. It worked upon all of Tomb Raider 1 faults and then added the great idea of costume changes! hah. Wetsuit lara croft I was a big fan of. Plus fighting a dragon! awesome. And the continents were interesting: china/tibet/ italy. Man I wanna go play it now actually.
2. Which Tomb Raider would you say is the easiest and which is the hardest?Easiest Legend hands down. Way too short and simple. Although I got stuck on that damn black creature boss in that soviet level.
Hardest Tomb Raider 3..sorry but was CORE trying to frazzle by brain into oblivion. I had to buy a walkthrough etc for that. Oh and Tomb Raider 4 was a bitch but I enjoyed it cos it was clever whereas tomb raider 3 just seemed hard for the sake of it.
3. Did you like Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft? Would you cast someone else? If so who would it be?Angie.j was prefecto for the role if you ask me. I cant picture anyone else. i think the only faults with the tomb raider films are the plotlines. They are never bad but can never equal the games plots and villains.
4. What inspired you to customize?msbig. I typed buffy figures randomly into goggle images and discovered her figures and then I discovered btvsfig.com. And then seeing all the stuff in the customs section there I just decided to go for it. My friend lucy was an influence. in our word processing lessons we'd just get the computers the teacher couldnt see from his desk and instead of working just stare at msbigs figures. Then lucy just randomly said i should have a go at it...and then I did!
5. Which of your customs are you most proud of?hmmm...hard one. I dunno...I loved the eskimo willow due to her face paint. she looked so pityful.lol. Oh also my kathy i made ages ago I was really proud of. final two I really liked would be my billy fred I made ages ago and my illyria from fade away. her face paint was really ott but i think it still kinda worked due to the character of illyria being so over the top and cool. the big eyes just sort of worked I thought.
6. Any freaky abilities we should know about?besides my spoon nose floating act...hmmm...I have a scary lizard tongue that is like double jointed. my friends find it fascinating as I can flick it back and forth like a mad man...as dodgy as that sounds...
...double jointed tongue..ahem...
7. If you would have a superpower - which power would you like?I always think about this and can never make up my mind...claires ability in Heroes is awesome...be so cool not having to get worried about being really badly hurt...so yeh hers...although general super strength slayer style would just rule. Save money on not having to go to the gym.lol.
8. List 5 facts about yourself.1. im known for being a bit too brutally honest to people.
2. im a complete nerd.
3.I despise my short height.
But I make up for it by being a lil bossy and a little too controling I guess...
4. j'adore going out to town/clubbing etc (although I prefer the term raving than clubbing
)
5.I have an obssession with crisps (chips) and dvds.
9. What 3 things you'd like to do before the world ends?1.man i suck at these in depth questions.lol....hmmm...Direct a film that does reasonably well. Im not talking hollywood blockbuster or nothing just something that isnt completely unheard of or completely trashed by all critics.
2.do something to help my mum. Buy her a new house or something, villa all to her self in spain or something. Dont really have the best homelife due to sucky dad etc so getting a place for my mum to move out to when me and sisters have graduated and moved out would be cool etc.
3.complete tomb raider 3.
(im shallow and simple i dont have huge aspirations other than the film.lol)
10. Which TV character can you most relater to and why?I dunno if anyone has heard of the british comedy 'Spaced'. Well it is genius and i COMPLETELY relate to the lead character Tim(played by simon pegg). He even prays to his a poster of buffy in his room in one episode!hah. And he sleeps with his x files figures.
11. What would you consider your guilty pleasures?Watching the rom-com 'the holiday' and enjoying it everytime.
My wierd obssession with The disney movie aladdin. sorry but it is just beyond amazing that movie. I even had an aladdin costume from the disney store which I wore all the time when I was younger.
12. What would you consider your deepest fear?never completing tomb raider 3...nah Im j/k...I would say the sea. I swim well etc but when I cant touch the sea bed and you cant see below you like in a pool cos its all murkey I get freaked out. My imagination goes wild and I think there could be anything below me. Those pedolo things you can rent out at the beaches in spain etc and go out into the sea really far and then jump out into the sea...I get well scared. Sharks ahoy. Although saying all these I faced my fear in Dominican republic and went swimming with nurse sharks and sting rays. Was amazing once I got over the intial terror.
13. Which of your collectibles is most valuable to you and why?Like I said in vicks question...The wooden buddha statue. He rocks his wooden socks.
14. Anything you regret not doing in your life so far?Not really. Nothing comes to mind. Maybe taking a gap year and going travelling but i know for a fact after a gap year Id never want to go back to education so I guess its good I didnt.
thanks lior.
