There was, it was Voyage of the Damned, screened Christmas day at 6:50pm.
Kylie looked old in it - whoever did her make up and hair needed their faces slapping. The plot was so-so and I have to say the whole family wasn't impressed here. I always thought it was Christopher Ecclestone that turned me off, it isn't just him.

I thought it was one of the worst dr who episodes so far to be honest.
I wasnt impressed at all.
the plot was so boring, the acting fairly shite and when compared to the past two christmas specials it paled in comparison.
The big reveal of the raknoss spider woman in 2006 christmas special was soooooo cool. There were no wow moments like that in this episode. The only good bit was the season 4 preview at the end which got me uber excited for next year! It looks so good. i cant wait for catherine tate!!! ;D ;D ;D

Basically, I thought it was a poor man's version of the Poseidon Adventure but with a dodgier plot!

Overall...not impressed. plus the angel things were rubbish villains...boring...like they thought 'ooo everyone found the stone angels scary from the season 3 ep...lets just re do them but have them kill in a new way' it was lame.

Well, I watched it few minutes ago and I won't deny enjoying it - it was quite entertaining and nice to get some Dr. Who after the 6 months break. But with this said, I admit it was hardly the great "Who" quality I've been used to. The plot was very simply and as James said the entire episode there was not a single "WOW" moment. And overall I enjoyed the season 4 preview much more than the entire episode. I really hope season 4 would be much better than this.

I agree that I enjoy the 2 minute preview for season 4 MUCH more than the approx 60 min episode...that stone looking guy looks well cool! And the set of eyes at the end...oooo...reminds me of the beast when he awakens in angel! Mega excited.

Well I dont usually watch Dr Who because I dont have time to watch everything but because Kylie was in it I recorded. It was easy watching and I was entertained. Kylie did look old. She is 40 this year and was playing a girl in her twenties. I think that she cant quite manage to play these younger roles anymore. Anyways The Dr did remind me of the Priest in the Posiedan when he said that he wasnt having anymore people die! I think the character Kylie played would have made a cool sidekick she was energetic and took risks. I much prefer David over Christopher. I have only posted now because I only watched it last night.
