Well.... For once it wasn't wet and windy! ;D
Show seemed to be much smaller in terms of guests pre-arrival and then actually smaller in the exhibition hall too. The Summer (July/August) show has been cancelled this year as for the last 2 summer's there has been poor turn out. Hope it doesn't spell something bad for Memorabilia.
I went with one aim, to meet Doug Jones. And I did twice.
I was actually first in Doug's queue, never happened to me before. I got photographed to go on Doug's official website www.thedougjonesexperience.com and was speaking to his web-mistress. She told me Doug was really nice and tactile and always after cuddles and he so was.
Initially on arrival, Doug seemed a bit harried and harassed and I was a bit wary from the queue but then he settled and was posing for pictures from the queue before signing started.
The guy is an absolute dream, spent loads of time talking to his fans, playing up the kiddies there, shaking people's hands, kissing ladies' hands, cuddles, kisses, up and down for photos no problem. Doug was some awesome that after going and getting my PALz and Gents figure signed and a photo, I went back again about an hour later and picked up a limited edition print (of 100 only available to the show), signed.
I'm still buzzing now from how cool Doug was. ;D
One thing to say, is his back-catalogue of films is amazing, from Batman Returns (tall, lanky clown), to Billy in Hocus Pocus, Mystery Men, Buffy, Abe Sapien in HellBoy, Silver Surfer, Pan's Labyrinth. Its probably easier to pick a film Doug hasn't been in.
Fantastic chap, if you get the chance go and meet him!
Pics of Doug:
Pics of signed stuff:
As for the show itself, loads of Star Wars stuff and older Who figures, a little grossly over-priced MAC Buffy stuff and DST baggie figures, newer DST figures down to £3 in some cases.
I picked up some Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life PWs. That was all.
Oh and they had a DT lookalike for Doctor Who and a mini Who area in the show.
