Okay... So Coventry not that bad to get to, approx 30 minute run. Parking not that bad, some right outside the door. Event itself: big boo-boo with the advance ticket holders being let in AFTER the on the day ticket holders when it should have been the other way around. Small amount of dealers with repeated items, spaced out and plenty of space to walk. Guests over the the left hand wall (from entrance along with photo both), made for a lot of room to queue in. Downside, some queues too close together. Leonard Roberts was nice, appeared a little shy, lovely smile and kept referring to me by name, happy to pose for photos despite his photo-shoot later on. Also only £15 a signature. Bruce Campbell, well, nice chap, naturally very funny, fairly chatty to some degree but mainly all business. Had written into his contract NO PHOTOS or video - period, no personal messages, if you want your name it was on a post it note on your item to be signed or you didn't get it. Cost £20 per signature. Did a photo-shoot, was very funny, entertained every other person with a ticket, the queue was in stitches at some of his antics. Bad points: Okay, so you buy a photo-shoot ticket and you cannot collect the photo as a) you need to get home, b) its a late shoot, c) the printers have a delay and you are NOT coming back tomorrow, so now Showmasters bright idea is to charge you £2 to send your photo home to you when the service was previously free. They don't seem to have considered the points a-c above. When queries why, the answer from a crew member was "to encourage you to remain at the show". My comment was: "What if you have a long journey home etc? You are being penalised so the answer is DO NOT have the photo-shoot." The crew member was "Oh, no we aren't saying that." Well in fact Showmasters you darn well ARE! What a crap money spinning event. It wouldn't be so bad but at £20 a pop the photo-shoots are already over priced. In conclusion: If Bruce doesn't do another event this year then, it was a good show, if he does then meh. CM Midlands 7/10. Camera found, so here are the pictures. BTW, yesterday they were strong winds/gales, so cue me getting out of the car and my hair all going crazy.
