Okay so Patrick Stewart didn't make it and neither did Michael Rosenbaum, but my what a con!
The forums had been saying it was eerily quiet for a Saturday yesterday and boy where they right.... Everyone and I mean EVERYONE came today.
They queue for John Barrowman began at 5am, went around the building and across the car park, 1500 virtual queuing tickets handed out, boys, girls, men and women all screaming for John on his arrival and movements to and from the photoshoot. Absolutely phenomenal.
So, John Barrowman, well, he is
that gorgeous in real life! Was fairly towards the start of the queue, and John was zipping through his signings as fast as he could whilst being polite. My perception was that he wanted to meet as many people as possible, given a 90 minute loss for the photoshoots, a late start for him and so many tickets being given out. He was as nice and as pleasant as he could be given the time constraints, and was also very friendly in the photoshoot. Nice guy, hope he does another signing and that the mania is a little less.
James Marsters, well, is James. No photography, no personalizations, but a handshake at the start and end of meeting him, and his usually friendly and charming self. Apparently, stopped his photoshoot 10 minutes in as he was groped!
Nice guy and nice to chat too - even though it was brief. Last year he commented on some of my pre-production figures so I was able to give him a bag of the ones he had never seen/owned today - thanks to Shaz for her help! James thanked me for my generosity and said he wouldn't have gotten to see the figures or own them otherwise. Though, I was allowed a photo as I was the last in James' queue before lunch and because of the figures I think.
Tawny Cypress is phenomenal, so sweet, very chatty, nice lady and highly recommended.
Santiago Cabrera was very quiet but charming. Nice to meet, great smile but very hard to draw in on a conversation.
Linda Blair, was amazingly sweet and funny. But my is she so tiny height and weight.
I am so going to have dwarfed her in the photoshoot.
She hadn't seen the Supernatural Pieceworks and was a bit put out at them, apparently, she hadn't given Inkworks permission for those. My bad.
Connor Trineer, was sweet, and charming, and gorgeous and had virtually no queue. Bless. I so wanted to keep him.
Anyway, had a full on action packed day, running here there and everywhere! LOL! Words cannot describe the mania and the ethos surrounding John at all.
I managed to grab the Heroes volume 1 comic book with 20% off, Supernatural Rising Sun issue 1 and that was it I think. I also bought 2 posters left over from the Eclipse con, which are cool, along the lines of Vote for Nathan Petrelli and a bumper sticker.
Without my Gold Pass, I would have been struck out. It might cost a fair whack, but on the basis of today it worked well.
