This is a new show on ABC Family it is about a guy who finds out on his 18th birthday that he is a nephilim (half human/ half Angel) he also finds out that he is also "the Redeemer" the one nephilim who was part of a prophesy and was sent to redeem the fallen angels so that they can return to heaven. So far this show has promise
It premiered last summer as a TV movie and this summer they are expanding the story.
part 1 was on last night, part 2 is on tonight and part 3 is on Sunday night

Ooh... Now hang on, is this a spin off of a film, because "nephilim" seems a familiar term? Am I thinking of Denzel Washington in the movie Fallen with Azazel? Or am I thinking of anther movie with Christopher Walken (was it the Prohecy?)?
Anyway, any good? I hope we get that over here, compeltely up my alley.

The Nephilim are in the bible, it isn't just a term from movies. Some bible scholars believe that that is why God flooded the earth. There is a great wiki article about them. As for the show, since it was ABC family, I never even considered giving it a chance. So it's pretty good? I'll have to give it a chance.

Thanks for the info, Gerry, I hadn't realized that they were in the bible. That's pretty interesting.
I saw the first Fallen movie when it aired last summer. I really liked it. The head evil angel was played by Elizabeth Lackey, the same woman who plays Parkman the mind reading cop's wife on Heroes.
The only thing that bugged me about this was that the angels who are after the nephilim have somehow lost their contact with God. So they're commiting all of these murders with arrogance and self-righteousness. I assume they lost contact with God because they went off the path, or whatever. But it just bugs me that they act like an angel could lose contact or their connection with God. Seems like God would pipe in, if only to say, "Dude, I said 'Thou shalt not kill.' Look it up."
I don't know if they address that in the two subsequent movies. But overall I thought they first one was pretty good. Definitely better than the standard ABC Family made for TV movie fare.

Yeah, I recall it being a Biblical term, that was why it stuck in the one movie it was mentioned in that I now cannot remember the title of. At the time I was astounded that someone had actually done proper research and used it in the correct manner. Since usually anything goes in Hollywood. I am also now wondering if I read about it in a novel too (I mean besides the Bible)? Its one of those annoying, the name is one of those "just out of your grasp" occasions.

I just finished watching the second Fallen and I loved it! It was tons better than the first one, which I had liked pretty well. Azazel was super cool. He could give Spike a run for his money in the bad boy department. Azazel would have made a good vampire, actually. I loved how he did such a sexy Greek-type accent at the beginning of the movie. Then liked the cockney biker's accent and copied that. I read the actor's bio and it turns out he's from Cyprus, but was also raised in London, so that explained how he did both accents so well.
This one was extremely violent for an ABC Family movie. It's really dark, too. I think that Azazel's argument with Vilma over sexism was pretty funny. Azazel was saying that he loved how easy mortal women are. Vilma said he shouldn't say something so derogatory about women. Azazel was genuinely baffled. "What? I said I LIKE that they're easy." Then rolled his eyes.
My husband thought the dog talking was cheesey, but I loved it. I think they used a different dog in the second one. He had a lesser role, too. I wished he was talking more, but I'm a sucker for animals.
Man, it ended on such a cliffhanger. I can't believe I have to wait an hour an a half before the last one is on! I have a strong feeling that it was Lucifer who freed Azazel (the guy was wearing red robes, Satan's color), and Lucifer will try to get Aaron to redeem him and send him back to heaven.
I'm also wondering if the guy Azazel only calls "light bringer" is Lucifer, since he was the "Angel of Light".

I watched the third Fallen last night and I think that the second one was the best of the three. I still think that Azazel was the best character of all of them, but I love that bad boy, Spike-type character. Brings humor and sexiness to the piece.
I think they had some good filming and a very good story, even if it was a little derivative or the Matrix and Star Wars. But overall, it was a really interesting ride.
My husband just hated the talking dog. He thought it was super cheesey. But I loved it. And the scenes where the dog is giving the edgy Azazel a hard time are pretty funny. Kind of like Spike baiting Angel.
