When they invaded the earth...Who remember that TV series? It was so cool! I mus find those dvd's!
Anyone ever seen it? It's a tv series from the eighties (1983) and here's a copy of the plot:
"Aliens pretending to be friendly come to Earth and are received openly. The aliens have masqueraded themselves to look just like humans. When it is discovered that the aliens' planet is dying and that they have come to rape the Earth of its natural resources, the war for Earth begins. An important key to the humans' success is distinguishing the their own from the aliens.
A seemingly benevolent alien race forces Earth into fascist rule. In Los Angeles, a brilliant med student unintentionally becomes the leader of one of the world's most effective resistance movements against the invaders. With the help of an intrepid journalist and a motley group of people from different walks of life united in the cause, they help to reveal the secret of the Visitors--who turn out to be a reptilian race--and aid in the global effort to save Earth for future generations.
The main cities of Earth are surprisingly visited by 51 huge alien spacecraft, and their leader introduces themselves as a friendly people looking for cooperation with Earthlings. Soon, they blame scientists of sabotage and uprising against the Visitors. Journalist Mike Donovan and medical student Julie Parrish disclose the real intentions and the reptile appearance of the aliens, while groups of people organize resistance against the hostile invaders."
I was only 5 in 1983, but I assume we got the show broadcast in France much later! My favorite part of the show was probably the wide variety of characters...The casting was HUGE!!!! Some names of the actors who played in it: Marc Singer, Faye Grant,Michael Ironside

Yeah!!! I remember this show. It was a mini-series that turned into a weekly series. A few years back I found the original mini-series on dvd and rented it. It wasn't as cool as I remembered,(I guess I'm spoiled by state of the art effects) but I still enjoyed watching it. I always thought the story was interesting, and it was nice to see the Resistance kick some "lizard" butt again.

Yes, it looks kinda "old and outdated " more than twenty years later (Visual effects and make-up weren't always good) but I enjoyed watching it as a kid. I believe they even had some action figures released!

Wow! I loved the two miniseries: V and V: The Final Battle
Oh man, I thought Diana, the evil head of the aliens, was so cool, with her heavy makeup and super permed hair. I wanted to be just like her, um, without the live mouse eating snack food.
I thought that Martin, of the nice 5th column alien faction was really hot!
Robert Englund also appeared in the miniseries as a nice alien. He was romantically involved with a human.
Remember when the teenaged girl gave birth to the two alien babies. One looked like a regular baby and then the lizard tongue came out, and the other was this evil, slimy green thing? I was on junior high and it's all I could talk about all week! I was going on and on about it all. None of my friends watched it, so they thought I was an obsessive dork.
Gee, I guess not much has changed.
It was so creepy how the aliens acted like they were there to teach humans about their peaceful ways, but it turned out they were secretly warehousing all of the humans for food. It was so creepy! The stacks and stacks of humans were not unlike the Matrix battery cells with hoards of humans in storage.
I'm probably the only one on here who saw the miniseries when it orginally aired, except maybe for monkeycop.
I don't know how I missed that there was a TV series. How long did it last?

Yep, Bloodyfrenchy is right. They did make action figures. I think I've seen them a couple of times on Ebay. They look to be about 9 inches tall with clothes. Sort of like the early Star Trek figures from the 70's. Maria, the series lasted a season or two(I think) and then was cancelled. Also, the actor that played Martin came back in the series to play Martin's twin brother after Martin bought it in V-The Final Battle(that wasn't so final after all ). Apparently, if your reptilian alien sibling is a twin, your human skin-mask must also match. Heh heh. If we keep talking about this, I might have to go buy these dvds just for old time's sake.

LMFAO!!! That's so funny about the twin having twin skin! It might have made more sense for it just to be a random alien with the same fake skin. Did they make Martin's twin a good alien with the same personality, or what? Might have been interesting if they'd sent a different alien to earth with Martin's same disguise to infiltrate the 5th Column. I don't think I'd want to see it again, because the cheesiness factor might ruin my good memories of it. That's what happened when I saw the 70s Wonder Woman show again. I wonder whatever happened to Marc Singer or the chick who played Diana. Man, I thought Diana was the bomb!

When they introduced Martin's twin brother(can't remember his name, we'll just call him Fartin , he was actually a bad guy, but I believe he started to come over to the side of the Resistance, and become a good guy. Diana actually lost the mega 80's hair-do, and wore it straight during the series, which definately looked better, but.........geesh, chicks that swallow guinea pigs whole just aren't my thing. I hear ya on the Wonder Woman thing. I guess that's why I never really got into it. Maybe Joss can change that though.

Oh, that's so sad! It was a long time ago, though. I don't even remember much about the plot, except they were fighting the aliens and Singer's son had been in the "food" ship, until the aliens took the kid out as a favor for Singer's rich mom.
And the alien baby. Can't forget the freaky birth!
And Diana. Loved her!
