Hello folks! Well, what can I say, aren't you all just fabulous! Thanks for all your kind words/thoughts/prayers etc! Jenny kept me updated. All I can say is I have just gone through the most horrific experience of my life. This is my 4th surgery since 2002 and basically this should have been a minor hernia repair... Well, it wasn't as small a hernia as they thought. So, I am out with a drain, and I have to say morphine is evil. Its good to be back and hopefully I'll be back on the ball soon...! ;D PS: Did I not say I'd be out in time for Supernatural! LOL!

Oh Vickie, that's awful that it was so much more serious than you expected. I'm glad that that the worst of it is over. You're the first person I've heard of who said that morphine is evil. Most people enjoy it. I've never had it. What's the problem with it?

Well, when I was told the hernia was smaller my surgeon said a minimum of 4 months. I suppose we are looking at that and may be more since the hernia was bigger. I was supposed to be in surgery 45 minutes, I was up there over 3 hours.

So the doctor hasn't given you a new estimate? That's so weird. I mean, taking off that much time from work is a huge deal. How does your work feel about it?
Is your strength starting to come back yet?

So the doctor hasn't given you a new estimate? That's so weird. I mean, taking off that much time from work is a huge deal. How does your work feel about it? Is your strength starting to come back yet? He got called to a medical emergency in Tehran after he operated on me he actually left on the Thursday evening, so I was discharged out without seeing him. But standard practice with my oncologist is to see him 6 weeks after surgery to see how the initial recovery is going. As for taking time off work, well, work have to deal with it. There was an issue with my Head teacher last time (I'm a teacher) as he was told that there was nothing wrong with me I was just getting sick notes illegally basically. But then I took my photos from my surgery with me... How many people have the surgeons take pictures during an operation as their disease is so rare? My oncologist has been doing his job 40 years and this is the first time he has ever seen my case. As for myself at the moment, well I have had the drain out and since they took that out I am in a lot of pain, unfortunately being my abdomen, there isn't a lot you can do without using those muscles. I have been told to move for the nest 3 weeks only to go to the toilet, to bath or to attend the hospital. I just have to sit, which is very boring! Though I am breaking up sitting by having 10-15 minutes per day on my PC! If anyone wants a look, here are some pics... No funny comments about the PJ's okay! img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/madvicks/Pict0885.jpg img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/madvicks/Pict0886.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v166/madvicks/Pict0888.jpg
