Hi! I think most of you already know who I am, but here goes anyway I'm Jessica (most call me Jess) from Wisconsin, USA. I'm 19 (going to be 20 in March). I love customizing figures, as well as collecting them. I'm a big Buffy and Angel fan, my favorite characters are Anya, Buffy, Willow, and Lorne. I also enjoy: Firefly, Lost (although I haven't seen much of it), CSI, CSI: New York, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, Survivor, Amazing Race, and Smallville (I've only seen season 1). I am also fond of some gameshows like: 1 vs. 100, Deal or No Deal, and Identity. I also enjoy two late night talk shows with David Letterman and Craig Ferguson. I find both of them hilarious, especially when Craig does his Sean Connery impressions! I'm also a big movie fanatic. Some of my favorites include: Pirates of the Caribbean (both movies), Serenity, Dodgeball, Troy, White Chicks, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter (all), and Secret Window. My favorite actors are: Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie, Justin Long, Eric Bana, and Orlando Bloom. That's all folks! -Jess Welcome Jess! I'm so psyched that you joined us over here! Yay! I'm a major David Letterman and Craig Ferguson fan, too. I tivo them every day. I have such a super crush on Craig Ferguson. I love that Scottish accent! And it's even sexier when he's Sean Connery, I agree that it is cool. I adore Dodgeball too! It's one of the funniest movies of all time. It was written and directed by the son of a friend of my husband's. We got to see an advanced screening with his family and friends. I knew it would be an instant classic. Welcome to our kindier, friendlier board!

lol, Maria I have a crush on Craig Ferguson too! I'm a sucker for guys with accents (especially scottish ones). That's awesome that you got to go to advanced screening of Dodgeball. I just can't get enough of that movie. Alan Tudyk is so funny in it. It was just full of great celebs too. This forum seems so friendly already! The BTVSfigs forum is going slightly downhill, certain people just like ruining things. Hopefully this can stay in a friendly atmosphere! -Jess

The vision is definitely to keep it friendly, upbeat and respectful. Kal-El's policy is to ban anyone who is rude and attacking to others for a week. If they keep up that behavior, they're account will be deleted. It's the policy that many of us wish they had on the other board.
Do you ever watch the Highlander tv show? Oh, Adrian Paul is a God! I just love when they do the flashbacks and he puts on the thick Scottish accent. No man is sexier than Adrian Paul with that accent! Yow!
Though, Ewan MacGregor's quite a cutie too! He doesn't have Adrian Paul's body, though. AP is the whole package.
I'm psyched that you like the board. I just invited a few more people over here. I'm hoping that we can do some fun creative things to make it fun.

That's a really good policy It seems like they only ban people on the other forum when a person brings up too many old threads, but not when people are rude, which makes no sense to me. No I've never seen Highlander, I may have to check that out though -Jess

Hi Guys, thanks for the invite Maria, though why you want to invite an old fart like me is beyond comprehension.
Right, I am Paul (scullow here and on BTVS), 49 (hence the old fart bit), which will make me the oldest person on this board too. I live in South Ockendon, Essex, UK which is just to the east of London. I love TV and have recently rediscovered my love for reading since I have changed jobs and now have more time to read:-). My mother taught me to read before I went to school and the first real book I read was War of the Worlds by H G Wells and I have been a confirmed Sci-Fi nut ever since. I am old enough to remember when there was only black and white TV and only two chanels too. I remember the first night that BBC2 aired in the UK. I remember when my Dad had a Colour TV delivered, he had to drag me up to bed. As far as I was concerned it was better than sliced bread. My favourite TV shows are DS9, M.A.S.H., NYPD Blue, Red Dwarf, Northern Exposure, Angel & Buffy, Firefly, all the versions of CSI, especially the original, Eureka, Torchwood, Dr. Who, Bones, Mythbusters, American Chopper, any programme about No-Limit Texas Hole-Em, Las Vegas. There are bound to be a few more but after lots of Christmas excess my brain is a bit addled. I love TV shows which are slightly left field with a warped sense of humour and also aimed at adults which is why I prefer Angel to Buffy (do I get banned now???) and Torchwood to Dr. Who (dont hate me Darrel). I read Sci-Fi, Azimov, Heinlein, Niven, Pournelle and more. I read horror by the coffin load. I used to read everything Stephen King published. I love Dean R Koontz. I recently raided ebay for the complete set of the Amtrak Wars by Patrick Tilley and wrote to his publisher to ask when book 7 was comong out and was stunned when I got an email from the Author himself. I also read war fiction, I know, bad me, and have recently rebought the complete works of Sven Hassel about a German Penal Regiment in WW2 which comprised of a bunch of loveable rogues. I also read some non fiction too, Al Capone and various other criminal types, they tend to have more exciting lives than normal people. I am happily divorced. Have two children and two Grandkids now. When my son phoned me and said, "dad, are you sitting down?" I replied "when is it due?". He never ceases to be amazed that I know stuff. I asked him "did you have safe sex like I said in our talks?" His answer is priceless, "SOMETIMES". You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink. Thats not what I said at the time but its a lot less rude. Sorry for taking up so much time. I'll stop now.
Finest Kind.
Shiney.

Hi Guys, thanks for the invite Maria, though why you want to invite an old fart like me is beyond comprehension. Hey, Shiney, we old farts have to stick together! Besides, you're mad fun! I always laugh at your posts. You add so much color and good humor to the forum. I hope you'll post a lot. I also love Bones. It's such a fun, well-done show. David Boreanaz says that he and Emily Dushanel practice their scenes together for hours with an acting coach to get the chemistry down. I love the term happily divorced. I have a sticker on my fridge that says "Why is divorce so expensive? Because it's worth it." I had one of those divorce thingies myself. So happy when that marriage was over. Welcome! Welcome, Paul! I'm ecstatic that you're here.

Hi!
Thanks for the invite Jess!
I'm Jackie, 27, and am from Washington State. I post as Drufan on the other board, so figured I would use the same name here.
I'm a HUGE Buffy and Angel fan, my favorite characters are Dru (obviously), Faith and Lorne.
I just got into Firefly and think that show is great. I also love Heroes, Bones (when I can find time to watch it), Veronica Mars and Smallville. I miss Quantum Leap - I thought that was such a great show! Just saw that game show 1 vs. 100 for the first time the other day - what an interesting idea!
I love to read and watch movies. My favorite movie of all-time is Tombstone. I just love Val Kilmer, especially when he was portraying Jim Morrison in the Doors.
This looks like a great new forum!
Chat with you all soon.
Jackie

Welcome Jackie!
I'm so glad that Jess invited you. Our vision for this board is a place where people have fun and are respectful to each other, even when we disagree.
I'm really excited that people are inviting their friends here. I think that the more great people who have here, the better. We want people to feel that this is a safe, low key place to hang out, without people picking fights or being attacking to each other.
I'm a fan of Dru, as well. My husband has a massive crush on her, which is a bit scary. I tell him, if he likes crazy chicks, what does that say about me? I love Dru's clothes and all the crazy stuff she says.
I hope to see you a lot around here. Please let us know if you have any ideas for the board.

Maria you do know that I will be quitting the board now due to the HUGE amount of pressure that you have heaped on me by expecting me to be funny in all my posts. So your ecstasy is short lived. Thanks a bunch. :-(

About me: Before the Age of Man. Before the Age of God. This paltry mortal realm was consumed with chaos and strife. In an ocean of fire and brimstone, a figure emerged. In the shape of man, but something more, something far more. As the age of man grows, shapes, and slowly dies, this figure patiently waits for the tides to turn. He waits for the fires to return, the suffering to thrive. The cries of hope to die. That is when this figure will emerge as the God long awaiting his reign.
Until then he will be happy sipping on girly drinks.

Hi. I'm Matt.
I'm 34 years old, and I was born raised(and currently living in Ft. Worth, TX. I am a police officer by profession, but my primary income comes from my security job as a contract guard for the federal government. I would like to do the police gig fulltime, but the feds pay me a lot more. I am also divorced, and couldn't be more relieved.
I guess you could say I've been hooked on action figures ever since the Christmas of '77 when I got my first Star Wars figures. That's all it took. I grew up watching all the sci/fi and horror movies/shows that I could. It's great how easy dvds have made it to go back and watch all those old shows. I'm currently watching Supernatural and My Name Is Earl. I would watch more shows, but I've been on the go so much lately, i simply don't have the time to invest in them. Plus, the reception in my apartment sucks when I try to record them.
Currently, I'm collecting Buffy/Angel stuff right now, and anything else that I find cool.
Thanks for inviting me here Maria.
