I loved that Rose was at the end of the show, I never expected that. The red-head is Catherine Tate (a comediene) its strange her being in a show like this! Great season opener the fat babies were too cute! x

She was pretty cool so who knows. With Dr. Who going on a break next year I don't think Torchwood and SJA would be enough to keep the interest so they should consider another spin off even if its for that year alone.

I love Catherine Tate as a sidekick, she adds lots of comedy to the show. I want sure at first if she would be right but she is really good!

I've just starting watching this show after people have been telling me how good it is FOREVER. It is very good, though I sometimes have a hard time figuring out what's going on because they talk so fast with such thick British accents. The details and explanations come shooting at me so fast.
I love the Dr. He's really fun and over the top.
I thought the girl who played his daughter was wonderful. I really hope she gets her own show, or at least shows up in future episodes!

Yeah they do talk pretty quickly and the dr does ramble - I have to listen very quickly and I am a Brit! LOL I started to use the closed captioning for this show. It shows the words they are saying on the bottom of the screen. It's really helped me understand. Sometimes when Rose and the Doctor talk I haven't a clue what they are saying! The Sci Fi channel has been showing more episodes and even did a marathon of Dr. Who last week, so I am learning some of the back story with Rose. But I haven't seen anything from before 2006 yet. I heard the DVDs are super expensive, like $60-$70. That's triple what I usually pay for a TV season.

hahaha.
I dunno why I find that humourous, having to use subtitles to hear what they are saying, But obviously Im british so I have no problem with it.
your lucky tennant doesnt use his scottish accent, would make things even harder for you then! hehe.
But yeh, glad to see you are tuning into doctor who, its great. the series 4 finale really does look bloody incredible. im so EXCITEDDDDDD.

I have a hard time figuring out what's going on without the subtitles. LOL.

haha. all part of the fun I guess...all the technical jargon tennant spouts out...half the time i tune off for a few seconds.lol.
I was walking through town yesterday and had mini goosebumps...I came out of the cinema and was walking to a bar with my friend and glanced down some side street and realized it was the side street they used in the series 4 opener when donna joins the doctor.
the scene where she opens her car trunk and has all her luggage and suit cases and the doctor is standing by the tardis and is like 'whats all this?'
Was kinda cool, I was like omg the tardis has been down here!! haha. Im still determined to meet tennant and tate at some point but i guess they film in my town in the early hours of the morning...best actor sighting iv had was jojhn barrowman on top of a building in town and walking past marthas mum while shopping.lol.

I've just started watching Doctor Who (my friend forced me onto it...) and wow. At first I didn't like it, the first two episodes arn't very strong but once it hit episode 3 I was just blown away.
The characters are so well done and the entire alien thing is done perfectly. They don't take themselves 100% serious yet its not cheesy and kidish its the great balance that they got so well.
I'm only on episode 7, but my friend is sending me the rest of the series on disc so hopefully I'll be able jet through the remainder of season 1 and then season 2-4.

BatBoy, you're in for a treat. The show really hits it's stride in season 2 when Tennant joins the cast as the new Dr. Who. He is an amazing, hilarious, charismatic actor, just hilarious to watch onscreen.
I think that the Daleks are the one really weak point of the show. The way they talk is grating and so cheesey. I assume it's a throwback to the original series. But I really don't enjoy the scenes that feature them.

I started Doctor Who for the first time last month. I've already watched series 1-3, and I can't wait for series 4 to be released in the United States (November 18). I was hooked from the first episode. But series 2 was what really got me addicted to it. David Tennant is just fantastic, he brings a whole new life into the show. I never thought I'd find a show that I love as much as Buffy, it's a very welcome surprise. I'm just shocked that I didn't start watching it sooner, I love British movies/shows. I have no trouble with any of the accents. There is an occassional word that I need to rewind to hear it again, but that doesn't happen often. I've never had problems understanding British/Scottish/Irish accents, I dunno why.
You don't like the Daleks Maria? I actually like them. I find it funny the way they talk. "Exterminate! Exterminate!" lol. The only baddies I don't like that much is the Cybermen.
But yeah, Tennant is amazing. (Yes I have a crush, lol) A rather large crush if I may say so. I was always a sucker for an accent.

No, I think the Daleks are really stupid and make the show seem cheap. When they suddenly appear, I have to roll my eyes. But I'm with you on Tennant! That guy is so fun to watch! He's got so much charisma. I feel like he's attractive because of his personality, kind of like Spike. I'm not saying he's like Spike, but I didn't think Spike was hot until I watched him on the show for awhile and he was such a great character.

Yeah he does have a lot of charisma. And a lot of obvious energy to be able to do dialogue like that and at the speed he goes at. What first attracted me was his humor, the way he can say anything and make you laugh.
